Johne's disease
This news item from johnes.org discusses a reference from a major USA vet lab. https://johnes.org/news/ Their research "highlights that the ELISA is a screening test and cannot be used to definitively diagnose Johne’s disease. A PCR test on a f***l sample is required after a positive ELISA to confirm the diagnosis. " Unfortunately neither the NSW or Qld vet lab offers PCR tests for goats, just cattle.

Welfare Wednesday
Did you know it is illegal to dehorn an adult goat (unless done by a vet under anaesthesia). This means you can't put castration rings on a goat's horns. Screw worm fly affects goat in Texas
See https://apnews.com/article/screwworm-flesh-eating-parasite-cattle-texas-a7459200cef00d658d877755ad761f41 . Sterile fly facility is being built to boost sterile male fly releases. Canada has banned imports of horses and livestock from Texas. Worrying a dog in New Mexico has been confirmed as infected.

Three more cases of the New World screwworm have been confirmed, including one outside Texas, demonstrating the difficulty of stopping a pest that could potentially devastate the nation’s cattle industry.

Good idea to use pool noodles to prevent a goat chewing her caesarian section sutures. I used T Shirts on backwards when eradicating CAE by sn**ch birthing kids from CAE positive does.

Chappy's making her own fashion statement as we've had to improvise to prevent her from licking and chewing at her healing incision from her C-section several weeks ago.
