Many dog friendly parks and areas are located around Brisbane and the Gold Coast. These areas have safe access to natural water sources such as beach or river inlets. These can be found on Brisbane City or Gold Coast City Councils websites.
Note: When visiting busy locations, off peak times are advised.

Mia saw at .acupuncturevet yesterday for an initial acupuncture and rehab consultation to address and manage her chronic hip and spinal pain.
A significant number of our patients with behavioural problems also have underlying pain or discomfort, contributing to their behaviour by increasing their irritability, anxiety, and frustration and lowering their emotional threshold at the same time.
When we see behavioural changes in our pets, we must also look for and address any physical concerns in order to improve their general well-being and emotional health. πŸΎπŸˆβ€β¬›

Mia is turning 10 this year!
She is going strong and happy even with her heart, hip, and anxiety problems.
We often forget about the oldies and put their changes in behaviour to β€œold age”.
Many behavioural changes in our older patients can be a result of pain, discomfort, or cognitive decline. These problems can be managed efficiently to significantly improve the mental and physical well-being of our older fur babies (what an oxymoron).

We see adult and geriatric patients with changes in behaviour and suspected cognitive decline. Get in touch to find out more!

Dr Kersti Seksel said this many times in the past, and it really resonates with me - Dogs are our prisoners. They have no control over their lives. They cannot decide when they eat, sleep, or play. They cannot choose what to eat, where to live, or who to love. All they have is you.

As their caretakers, it is our responsibility to provide what they need to them - not just physically, like proper nutrition, a safe resting spot, or warmth. We also need to look after them mentally. Making animals feel safe, secure, calm, and loved is our goal. We will try our best to enrich their lives as much as we can to give them the best life they deserve as our "prisoners".
