George the 8 month old cocker spaniel visited us today for his desexing procedure. He was such a sweetie pie and even got to sit with the nurses while they had their meeting today.
He was a super cute puppy when we first started seeing him earlier this year, and has really grown into such a handsome boy! 💙

Meet our Pet of the Day, the darling Nala!
Nala visited us today for some X-rays and was such a sweet, patient girl throughout the day!

She’s been coming to see us for over 6 years now, all the way back to when she was just a tiny 8 week old puppy! It’s so special getting to watch our patients grow up over the years and be part of their lives along the way. 💕

What is "skin cytology" and how does it work?
If your pet is itchy, skin cytology is a simple test that helps us see what’s happening on the skin.
A small sample is taken from the affected area using something as simple as a swab, clear tape or a microscope slide pressed onto the skin. The sample is then stained and examined under a microscope.
We look for things such as:
🔬 Yeast (Malassezia) – commonly found on itchy, greasy or smelly skin
🔬 Bacteria – which can contribute to skin infections
🔬 Inflammatory cells – which can show that the skin is reacting to something
The prepared slide can also be digitally scanned and analysed, allowing the cells and organisms present to be identified and assessed.
So rather than simply saying "your pet is itchy", cytology helps us answer "what is happening on the skin right now?"
This gives our vets more information about what may be contributing to your pet’s itch and helps us choose the most appropriate treatment.
Don’t forget, throughout October we’re offering FREE in-house skin cytology to help ditch your pet’s itch!
Call 3353 6999 to book. Consult fee applies.

Meet Flossy, the darling 6 month old Cavalier who visited us today for her spay procedure!

Flossy has something extra special about her, she has a Thermochip! This clever microchip not only identifies her but also allows us to check her temperature when we scan it. How cool is that!

Wishing you a speedy recovery, sweet Flossy 🌸

🐾 Pet of the Day – Little Tilly! 💕

Little Tilly came in for an ultrasound today. 🩷 She wasn’t quite sure why she had to stay with us all day, so we made sure she received heaps of cuddles and love until her mums arrived to pick her up! 🥰

We absolutely love it when this sweet girl comes to visit us! 🐶💕

Today we celebrate our amazing vet nursing team - the true unsung heroes of our veterinary clinic. 💙

They are the soft voice your pets wake up to after surgery, the warm arms that comfort them when they’re worried, the artists behind the wonderful bandage art and paper bag art, the lunchtime buddies for anxious patients, and the reassuring presence that helps every pet feel safe, loved and cared for while they’re away from home.

And, of course, they do all the less glamorous jobs too like keeping the practice spotless, safe and warm, preparing equipment, monitoring patients, supporting our vets and making sure every pet receives the very best care possible.

So today, we want to say a HUGE thank you to our incredible nurses and vet techs.

Your compassion, skill, patience, humour and dedication make such a difference to our patients, their families and our entire team.
We simply couldn’t do what we do without you!

Happy Vet Nurse & Vet Tech Day to our absolute superstars (those pictured, and not pictured)! 💙💙💙

Meet our pet of the day Josie!
Josie had a big day with us today! She started with an echocardiogram of her heart, followed by a Grade 2 dental.

After everything she had been through, Josie spent the afternoon being lovingly carried around and showered with cuddles, helping to keep her comfortable and feeling safe. 💗

Today we’re featuring three lovely Cavoodles! 🐶🐶🐶 They are from different families, but were all in with us today for their castrations. Even though they look similar with their beautiful red coats, each has their own personality! ❤️

Oscar, (the fluffy one on the right) is 7 months old and was the social butterfly of the bunch. He was so excited to meet everyone and very happy to make some new doggy friends! He had plenty of enthusiasm to share today 🥰

Archie (the smallest one in the middle), is 11 months and such a gentle little sweetheart who absolutely loved being held. He even woke up in someone’s arms with the cutest little tail wags! ❤️

Frodo (sitting on the left) is 9 months old and a bundle of energy! He was so happy to be here, loved meeting people and had his tail wagging all day. 💕

We loved seeing these sweet boys today! 🐾❤️
