💔 How is Wave still waiting?! 💔

Our gorgeous 1 year old Kelpie cross Wave has been in foster care for most of his life, after coming in to care from a rural pound as a tiny puppy. This clever boy has been in care for 509 days 😭

We can't understand how someone doesn't want this loyal shadow, who is fully house/crate trained, and a fetch champion!

🐈 Not a cat fan

👧 Kid friendly! Older kids preferred as he's quite bouncy

His dream home you ask? Active, with a bestie to play with, and a family ready to include him in daily life!

Wave has seen all of his siblings find their happy endings, and he is well overdue to find his own family.

Many thanks Simone😍

One thing I spoke about recently on a podcast was how long it actually took me to change the way I worked with animals.

It probably took me around two years before a positive reinforcement and welfare-focused approach felt truly natural.

I could learn the mechanics fairly quickly. But changing my automatic responses and habits took much longer.

At the time, I was immersed in learning. I was studying, attending classes every week, surrounded by trainers, and completely focused on improving my skills.

Yet meaningful change still took time. I think that's one of the reasons I have a lot of patience and compassion for my clients

When someone is trying to change how they respond to their dog's behaviour, they're often working against years of previous learning, advice, habits, emotions and expectations.

Behaviour change isn't always instant. Not for dogs and not for humans either.

Meet Rosie!!
This gorgeous girl has landed in the best home!
We did a puppy consult to set her up for success!
Unfortunately she broke her leg and this delayed her getting out and seeing the world 🌍
So we are starting now to build her confidence and she is doing very well!
Gently exploring the world one small session at a time!

This weekend I had a session with Bam Bam and his mum!
BB has been accepted into the program so we got a jump start on his training at Bunnings!
Bam Bam did so well navigating the store and even nailed a sit stay with distractions!!!!!
I’m looking forward to working with him and his mum!

Check out Dudley’s stylish shoes!!
Dudley has been training to become a therapy dog and part of this requires him to wear Booties while he is on duty!
We have also been working on his resilience with Noises and distractions and he is nailing it!
I think he is ready to spread some cheer to people in hospital 😍

Raggamuffin passed his Public Access Test again today!
Raggamuffin is a and when he has his Vest on he is working!
If you swipe ➡️ you will see him doing very important work!
Doesn’t look like much does it but here he is settled at his mums feet in the middle of the mall in the city.
Having Raggamuffin close by helps his mum in ways you cannot see.
This is why it’s very important when you see a dog in a vest just leave them be and don’t let your children or friends rush to pat them.
Well done Raggamuffin give your mum a high five for me!
