One of the most important experiences in a puppy's life is socialisation. Yet socialisation is often misunderstood.
Many people believe socialisation means letting puppies meet as many dogs, people, and places as possible. While exposure is part of the process, true socialisation is about helping puppies feel safe, confident, and comfortable in the world around them.
A well socialised puppy does not need to greet every dog they see or rush up to every person. Instead they learn that the world is a predictable place and that new experiences do not need to be feared.
Positive socialisation involves carefully introducing puppies to a variety of sights, sounds, surfaces, environments, people, and situations at a pace they can cope with. The goal is to create positive associations, not overwhelm them.
Quality always matters more than quantity.
The most valuable lesson a puppy can learn is that they do not have to engage with everything they encounter, sometimes confidence looks like calmly watching the world go by.
The experiences puppies have during their early months can shape how they view the world for years to come. By focusing on positive, thoughtful socialisation, we help create dogs that are not only well adjusted but also emotionally secure.
Socialisation is not about raising a friendly puppy, It is about raising a confident one.

Nothing to do with dogs.
Humans are struggling with the everyday cost of living and housing crisis.
Australia was meant to be the lucky country, not so much these days.
Please donate where and when you can.
Nobody should be struggling to put food on the table.😢

Many of the local supermarkets currently offer reduced or half price specials on soup🥫and noodle 🍜products.

If you are in the position to invest in one or two extra items in your shopping trolley 🛒, we would greatly appreciate if you could consider donating much needed food items to our centre.

We are still in urgent need of non-perishable food items to fill up our food parcels 🧺within our emergency relief program 'Wellbeing Wednesday'.

We are open Monday to Friday 9am 🕘 to 4pm 🕓.

Thank you for your ongoing support ❤!

Living with dogs is a journey of learning, patience, and connection. Humans and dogs naturally communicate and experience the world very differently, so it is completely normal to have moments of misunderstanding along the way.
Your dog is not expecting perfection they are learning about you just as much as you are learning about them.
Every walk, every training session, every moment of patience, every time you try again, it all matters. Building trust and understanding takes time, consistency, and compassion for both ends of the lead.
Some days will feel easy, and some days will feel challenging, that does not mean you are failing, it means you and your K9 buddy are growing together.
Keep showing up, keep learning, keep celebrating the small wins.
Your relationship with your K9 buddy is being built one moment at a time, and that bond is so worth it.
K9 parents you are all doing a great job keep it up and love unconditionally.

Adopting a rescue dog is one of the most rewarding decisions a person can make, but it is also important to acknowledge that it comes with challenges many people do not expect.
Rescue dogs often arrive with unknown histories, past trauma, anxiety, or trust issues. Some may struggle with separation anxiety, fear of loud noises, difficulty socialising, or adapting to a new routine. Progress can be slow, and there may be moments of frustration, exhaustion, or self doubt for new K9 parents.
What rescue dogs need most is patience, consistency, and compassion.
It is important not to give up too quickly when things feel difficult, trust and confidence are not built overnight, especially for dogs who may never have experienced safety or stability before. Some of the hardest days can come right before a breakthrough, and perseverance can make all the difference in helping a rescue dog truly settle and thrive.
Building that bond takes time, small wins, a relaxed tail wag, a peaceful walk, or the first time they truly feel safe can mean everything. While the journey is not always easy, the connection that develops through understanding and care is incredibly special.
Rescue dogs may need extra time to heal, but many go on to become the most loyal and loving companions.
I went through all the emotions and challenges with my boy 13 years ago and at the same time had my own personal challenges. For a while life was pure hell, a storm that I didn't know If I could ride out.
We did and we did it together, learning life lessons and staying strong in my faith.
My boy came to me for a reason and I am grateful everyday.
It was not easy and yet I would not change a thing.xx

Sunday morning outing
Cooler mornings are here so my boy asks for his coat .
Walks are always at his pace we love slow and cruisy.
He also lets me know when he has a little nerve pain as he will throw himself on the ground and rub then give me a little look when he gets up.
Quietly pulls at my heart strings knowing as I know everyday is a blessing❤️🐾
