Spicy girl is a staff favorite and once you meet her, you completely understand why. She is just so sweet and loves loves loves people. One of the staff members was even giving her special food because he loves her so much. I was thinking with the name Spicy she was gonna be all over the place but actually she’s very affectionate and would love to be a lap dog. Spicy is a lab mix, two years old and heartworm negative!! She’s an absolute doll and I’ll be crushed tomorrow if she doesn’t make it out. Watch her videos throughout the comments.

8/13/2026: Spicy greets me at the kennel door with a wagging tail and soft demeanor. She lets me leash her and walks loosely to and from the potty yard. Inside her kennel she can be seen laying on her cot quietly. When I enter her kennel she will melt into my lap as I pet her.

8/12/2026: Standing in front of kennel with a relaxed body. Easy to leash and walks on a loose leash. Greets neighbors in runs with a sniff, relaxed body and wagging tail.

8/11/2026: Spicy greets me at the kennel door with a happy demeanor, wagging tail, and squinty eyes. She lets me leash her and walks loosely to and from the potty yard. Inside her kennel she can be seen relaxing quietly on her cot.

8/9/2026: Spicy greeted me at the kennel door with a wagging tail and by jumping up on the kennel door. She let me leash her and walked loosely to and from the potty yard. Today she paid no attention to the other dogs. Inside her kennel she can be seen relaxing quietly on her cot.

8/8/2026: Wagging tail, soft smiling mouth, relaxed body. Walks on a loose leash. Takes meaty treats with a soft mouth.

8/7/2026: Approaching kennel, Spicy greeted me with a soft face, dilated eyes, ears back, softly whimpered, gently pawed the door and wagged her tail. She was leashed easily and walked semi-loosely, excited, tucking bum under, wanting to run then slowing as the leash tightened. Passing kennel, she was quietly resting on her bed. When customers took her outside, she hugged onto me as I pet her, displayed squinty eyes, commissures turned up and wagging tail.

8/2/2026: Spicy greets me at the kennel door with a happy wagging tail. She let me leash her and walked loosely to and from the potty yard. Inside the potty yard she was barking at the dog next to her. Inside her kennel she can be seen waiting by the kennel door quietly for interaction.

8/1/2026: Laying in bed with a relaxed body, swaying tail as I approach. Walks to the front of kennel and begins to whine once I open kennel door, she stops. Easy to leash and walks on a loose leash.

7/31/2026: Spicy was quiet throughout the day in her kennel usually laying on her bed. She was leashed easily and walked loosely. She whined a bit when left outside in a run, then quieted when I approached and excitedly hopped and tucked butt and circled. Passing kennel, she gently pawed the door with dilated eyes, lip licked, softly whined, tail wagging and ears back. She knows sit and paw and took treats gently from my hand. She loved pets, gave squinty eyes, hugged my arm and leg as I rubbed her belly, commissures turned up, almost sniveling, leaning into me and nuzzled.

7/30/2026: Quiet in kennel, kept kennel clean overnight. Relaxed body with a fast wagging tail as I approach kennel. Once leashed and stepped out of kennel she became very wiggly leaning onto my leg for pets as we walked, greeting neighbors in runs with a wiggly body and fast wagging tail.

7/29/2026: Whaled eyes, semi tense body. Easy to leash and walks on a loose leash. Kept to herself in the runs, after she pottied she laid by the run door waiting to be brought back inside.

7/28/2026: Spicy was a move adopt to my section this morning. When I put in a dog into the potty yard next to her she forward barked at her. Inside her kennel she can be heard whining when she sees someone.

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
For being just a year-old, Anna is surprisingly chill. Her notes say that she came in as a stray but she couldn’t have been out there for very long because she’s heartworm negative and she has a great overall body condition. This girl has striking two tone fur color. Her teeth are bright white and she takes treats extremely gently. Since she was the last dog that I was meeting for the day, we lounged around out in the runs for a while, and I let her have some time in the fresh air. I was laying on the bench and I noticed she walked right up to me and was wagging her tail and trying to get some love. She’s such a friendly, easy-going girl. I think she would make an excellent Family dog. Watch her videos throughout the comments.

8/13/2026: Quiet in kennel, wagging tail. Semi-tight leash ahead of me out to runs and back. Quiet throughout cleaning and after opening so left uncovered during adoption hours to monitor.

8/12/2026: Anna greeted me at front of the kennel w a loose body, she walked on a semi-loose leash to and from the runs and she took treats from my hand going back to her kennel.

8/11/2026: Anna was easily leashed and walked loosely with neutral body.

8/10/2026: Anna was easily leashed and walked semi-loosely sometimes pulling a bit towards other dogs and sniffing them. Passing kennel, she put her front paws on the door to see me over her cover, tail wagged, sniffed toward me, ears up, and sat for treats that she took gently from my hand.

8/9/2026: Throughout most of the morning, Anna was alarm barking in front of her kennel non-stop. When a sheet was covering her kennel, she calmed down and laid down on her cot for the rest of the morning. I offered her a pig ear and her Nyla Bone for enrichment. Made into Adopt Eval.

8/6/2026: Quiet and calm in kennel. Walked slightly ahead of me with wagging tail out to runs and back for both AM and PM walks. When passing people she greeted them with wagging tail, sniffing their hands and allowing pets.

8/3/2026: Anna stood in front of the kennel gate with a neutral body and eyes, and fast wagging tail while consistently high pitch howl towards me as I was either walking dogs or cleaning kennels. She did a good job of keeping her kennel clean overnight. Anna was walked on a loose leash and neutral to and from the outside runs. She paid little attention to other dogs as she passed by their runs and kennel.

8/2/2026: Approaching the kennel, Anna stood in front of the kennel gate with a neutral body and eyes, and fast wagging tail. She did a good job of keeping her kennel clean overnight. 7/29/2026: Anna was calm and quiet in her kennel during am feeding and cleaning. As I approached she greeted me by the kennel door with a relaxed body, wagging tail and soft smiling mouth. Walked on a loose leash heading in and out of south building while picking from trail of treats.

7/28/2026: Anna was a Move Adopt this morning and was walked on a loose leash to her new kennel in South B. Throughout the morning, she had been standing in front of the gate and watching as dogs walk pass her and would occasionally sit down with a neutral body and eyes.

7/27/2026: Greeted me with wiggly body, walked well on the leash. Did well in the runs, however when coming back inside dog started to pull back… did not want to come back inside. I had to get behind her and scoot her inside. Was able to place her in kennel and easily remove leash.

7/24/2026: Greets me at the front of the kennel, easy to leash, walks on a loose leash to the runs, but when coming inside freezes at the door and I have to carry her back inside.

Princess has to be my favorite of the day! This little girl is just so gentle and sweet. She is about a year and a half old, 37 pounds, already spayed and heartworm negative! She’s just a little bit timid, but incredibly sweet. She did excellent on her temperament test. This girl is only on the euthanasia list for space, which means she’s been a good girl at the shelter. she will come up to you and lean in for affection. Just a sweetheart. Well….. I would tell you baby cows are the way to go.
Princess is perfect, amazing, nonchalant queen! She loves to be around with everyone but isn’t pulling their way, or trying so hard, if she’s in it she’s in it! Ugh I don’t think I have anything negative to say.
I saw Princess and she literally stopped me and just her sweet demeanor in the kennel got me!
Princess is SO social, friendly and loving! Shes the most perfect angle baby there ever was! She tested with a male and female and did AMAZING ugh.
Princess is one of those dogs where people wouldn’t even continue to look unless someone had her out

📝 Shelter Notes:

7/29/26: Princess barked throughout the morning during cleaning and walks. She greeted volunteers with a loose body, wagging tail, and soft open mouth. She quieted down after her walk but occasionally barked when people passed her kennel.

7/28/26: Princess slowly approached the front of her kennel with a low wagging tail, loose body, and ears back. She walked slowly on leash, accepted treats at times, and remained calm and quiet in her kennel.

7/17/26: Princess stayed at the back of her kennel with a worried expression at first. Once leashed, she slowly walked outside with her tail tucked before relaxing into a neutral body and following her handler.

7/15/26: Princess initially appeared tense in her kennel but allowed herself to be leashed easily. She walked on a loose leash to and from the runs with a slightly tucked tail.

🩷 Princess is a gentle, sensitive young girl who simply needs a little patience to build confidence. Although she can be timid at first, she consistently relaxes once she's out of her kennel and enjoys quiet walks and kind handling. With a loving home and time to decompress, Princess has all the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.

Germany is just the best boy! He’s two years old and heartworm negative. This boy is so friendly and listens better than any dog I’ve met. It was so easy to take photos of him because he sat exactly where I wanted him to just from pointing. He’s very attentive and treat motivated. He gets along with other dogs and did great on his temperament test with Balto. Germany is only on the euthanasia list for space. He has great shelter notes. Saying that he walks with a loose leash, keeps his kennel, clean and has a soft expression, and wagging tail. I hope this boy doesn’t get overlooked. Watch his videos throughout the comments.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

7/29/2026: Germany greeted staff at the front of his kennel with a loose body, wagging tail, and soft expression. Walked on a loose leash, accepted treats, kept his kennel clean overnight, and immediately used the bathroom once outside.

7/28/2026: Presented with a loose body, wagging tail, and soft expression. Took treats gently, sat on his own, and patiently waited for more. Showed a brief stand-off toward other dogs in the outdoor runs but walked away when called.

7/26/2026: Sat calmly at the front of his kennel with his tail swishing as staff approached. Walked on a loose leash to and from the runs.

7/16/2026: Greeted staff with a loose body. Initially hesitant to walk on leash but responded well to gentle encouragement and treats. Walked on a loose leash outside. Briefly froze near the doorway returning inside but continued with reassurance.

7/13/2026: Had to be carried.

7/13/2026: Intake exam normal. Weighed 43.0 lbs. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, flea prevention given, and heartworm negative.

7/27/2026: Recheck exam normal. Weight remained 43.0 lbs.

OooooOooo Jazz! Isn’t she adorable? This girl is a perfect 36 lbs with beautiful white teeth. She’s just 2 years old and a happy, kissy, wiggly girl. She LOVES people and is very good at listening and following direction which made her super easy to photograph. She walks perfectly on a leash and would be such a great family dog! 📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

7/22/2026: Jazz showed a wiggly body, soft open mouth, and wagging tail. She walked to the runs on a loose leash.

7/21/2026: Jazz greeted me with a soft face and wagging tail. She was easily leashed and walked loosely with a wiggly body. While lying quietly on her bed, she got excited when she noticed me and wagged her tail with dilated eyes. After updating her photo and returning her to the kennel, she began high-pitched vocalizing again whenever customers passed by.

7/20/2026: Jazz was high-pitched whining in the kennel before going out for her walk. Once outside she walked on a loose leash to and from the runs. After returning to her kennel she remained quiet through cleaning. She was very wiggly, happy, frequently jumped from her bed to the floor with a fast wagging tail, sneezed, and licked my snout when I entered to spot clean. Tossed treats onto the bed to distract her while cleaning.

7/19/2026: Jazz was a Move Adopt this morning. Since being in her kennel she has been high-pitched barking, screeching, and scratching at the kennel, appearing stressed.

7/17/2026: Very wiggly in the kennel. Walked well on leash. In the afternoon she was vocalizing constantly with high-pitched barking and scratching at the kennel door, appearing stressed and panting.

Steven is just the sweetest, most gentle boy. He is submissive and lifts his little leg when he’s sitting on the ground to show that he’s the goodest boy. There’s not a drop of aggression in him, not even a bark when we walked by the other dogs. I love him so much! Steven is 1 year old, neutered and HW-!

🔹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲:
7/8/2026: Stray dogs on property under a jeep for shade. Citizen states the dogs get out and confront him at night. Called dispatch back to show where dogs are located.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

7/13/2026: When I approached Steven was at the back of his kennel with a cowered body. I opened his kennel door and baby talked him and his tail began to wag. He allowed me to leash him and he walked out of his kennel slowly. He walked on a loose leash, but held a tucked tail and walked low to the ground/army crawled. We got to the end of the row and he froze. I got on his level and baby talked him, we moved closer to me and leaned into me for pets (his tail began to wag). He allowed me to place him in a new kennel and accepted more pets from me.

7/12/2026: K9 was QAR/tensed body with whale eyes. Avoids leash and tries to get away from people. Please continue to monitor and update behavior notes.

7/11/2026: Dog is in the back of the kennel, tensed body, tail tapping as I walk into the kennel. He gets up but tries to avoid the leash. I baby talked and offered treats but he ignored them. Had to carry him to the next clean kennel.

7/9/2026: He was in the back of the kennel laying on his blanket with a tensed body and worried expression. Leashed him and he began licking his lips. He refused to walk out of the kennel with baby talk or treats. Kennel was clean so I changed out his blanket and let him stay to not cause further stress.

Nemo is such a cutie! This boy loves attention and is eager to learn. He has some behavior notes including whining in his kennel. He’s very wiggly and friendly and is lonely in his dark kennel. He did great on his temp test with bigger boy Myer and would do amazing in a home with kids or another dog to play with. After getting some energy out he is a sweet lap dog. 6 months old, 33 lbs and ALREADY neutered and HW-!! Watch the videos of this cutie throughout the comments.

Behavior (lunged at staff leg, cowered in the corner, whining nonstop, alarm barking, low growling, timid)

As I was collecting dirty laundry out of kennel, Nemo moved away from me and lunged at me. Even when I was moving out
of the kennel he still went after my right leg. Afterwards, she stayed cowered in the corner on top of her cot watching me.

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Wiggle butt girl! Dory is only 6 months old, 29 lbs, HW- and already spayed! She’s the best of both worlds. Cuddly lap dog and playful Pup! Out in the runs they were several dogs in the neighboring kennels and she did well! We paired her with two year-old Moon for her temp test and she just wanted to play with her. She can be a little frightened of the leash, but in a few days she’s been at the shelter she is learning quickly. Dory loves baby talk and would thrive in a house with another dog to play with. 📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Timid and frightened by the leash at first. I was able to put the leash around her and baby talked her out the kennel. She
crawled out with a waggig tail and I was able to pet her. She followed me as I walked her outside. She was hesitant to exit
the door but followed me when I crouched down and contiued to use baby talk. I placed her in a run and she relaxed
more and became wiggly.
This morning Dory was foward barking, tensed body, hackles up. She lunged at the front of the kennel. I baby talked to her
and she continue to growl and show teeth. I didnt move her to adoptions due to her behavior.
She was in the front of the kennel with a loose body. I open the door to leash her and she darted to the back and displayed
a fast wagging tail. I leashd her and she came out of the kennel and let me pet her before she got very excited and started
jumping around. She walked on a semi-loose leash to the runs and in the runs she ran around like a puppy playing. To vget
back inside she greeted e at the gate and let me leash hr and walked back to her clean kennel on a more relaxed leash
timid and cowering at the back of the kennel, low growling, but was easily leashed, and walked with a loose leash to new
kennel. Came up to me with a tucked body, and wagging tail. Let me pet and baby talked. Puppy began to relax and
was in my arm
