On Friday our team sadly said goodbye to one of our beloved clinic cats.
Freddy was with us for 9 years. He greeted us every morning, supervised the treatment area, and become a permanent fixture in our lives. He was one of the greatest cats we’ve ever known and his loss has created a deep hole in our hearts.
Though it was a rare occurrence for him to wander up to the lobby, he occasionally made special appearances. His main goal every day was to collect his cheese tax, no matter the form. He loved spray cheese, cheese puffs & cheese sticks. He enjoyed his iPad time & you would often find him snuggled on top of random surfaces throughout the building, a stack of papers, a patients carrier, a special hideaway down in the basement. He always found the best spots for naps. He would join several of our staff members for their lunch breaks. During the morning huddle he would often be attached to someone’s shoes. He would sit right in front of the keyboard while you were trying to work, and he would always take up the counter space in room 1. He was our HR Manager, in charge of team morale. He loved this team and this team loved him immensely.
This loss is heavy and it is profound. Each team member here had a special bond with him, past and present employees.
We ask that you keep our hospital in your thoughts and have patience as we navigate this grief. A loss like this does not heal within days. We will be reminded every day of his absence.
Freddy. You were so loved and cherished beyond measure. We will never forget you, our special boy. We will love you forever.
