Turns out, Dr. Berning really does care about pet dental health!

Have you had the chance to read your profile based on what you buy online? Check it out, just for fun. And remember, if you're buying any oral homecare products we recommend VOHC-Approved products. We are proud to be a sponsor for the Hilliard Food Pantry’s fundraiser again this year. Our team will be there to support the food pantry and enjoy a fun evening of bingo!

A BIG thank you to all of our incredible sponsors for Designer Purse Bingo! 💕 Your generous support makes this event possible and helps HFP+ continue providing food, support, and connection throughout our community.

We truly couldn’t do what we do without partners like you. We are so grateful for your investment in HFP+ and the people we serve!

Please consider supporting these amazing businesses and organizations whenever you have the opportunity. When you support our sponsors, you’re supporting HFP+ and our community, too!

The American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) recently published a position statement on Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis (FCGS). Here are the highlights:

FCGS, often called stomatitis, in cats is a painful immune-mediated condition

Up to 26% of cats are affected by FCGS

Multi-cat households have an increased prevalence of FCGS

Full-mouth extraction is the recommended treatment

Removal of all teeth should be confirmed with imaging using dental radiographs or cone-beam CT

Medical management should not be used as monotherapy, it should be combined with full-mouth extraction

There are research-based medical management options for refractory stomatitis cases

Experimental therapies should only be used in very carefully selected cases and often under the supervision of a specialist

We accept referrals for stomatitis cats, and routinely perform full-mouth extractions in 1-2hrs. All patients at our facility receive cone-beam CT 3D imaging and full-mouth dental radiographs.

📸 2: Refractory FCGS, prior to medical management
📸 3: During treatment with cyclosporine

The team at VDOSO recently had the opportunity to take a private Tai Chi class at The Well, our local Hilliard Rec Center as a part of our ongoing collaboration with the city of Hilliard. We learned stretches and techniques for working with the body and mind. It was an excellent class, and we are excited to continue our wellness partnership!
