🎉 23 YEARS OF JON! 🎉

That’s right… 23 years! On October 6th, we’re celebrating Jon’s 23rd anniversary with the GRAH Family! 🐾❤️

It’s hard to think about GRAH without Jon. He’s been here longer than just about all of us , and pretty much everyone who has joined our team over the years has had the chance to learn from him. And if you’ve ever been trained by Jon, you know how patient, kind, and willing to teach he is.

Surgery is definitely Jon’s gig! 🩺 He has been our surgery technician for as long as many of us can remember, and that’s where he truly shines. His calm presence and confidence have also made him a favorite among our clients. Leaving your fur baby with us for surgery can be nerve-wracking, but Jon has a way of making people feel like their pets are in good hands. And honestly… can you blame them for loving him? ❤️

Jon may be sweet and soft-spoken, but when it comes to patient advocacy, he will absolutely make his point! 😆 He cares deeply about his patients and isn’t afraid to speak up for what he believes is best for them. That’s something we all respect and admire about him.

And then there’s the side of Jon that we coworkers get to see. 😂 We have a pretty good time keeping him entertained with our silly antics and questionable sense of humor. Every once in a while, we manage to get that laugh out of him , the one where he grabs his tummy, looks up, and really lets it out. We absolutely love when we get to see it!

There’s so much more we could say about Jon, but at the heart of it all, we’re incredibly grateful for the 23 years of dedication, knowledge, compassion, and care he has given to our patients, our clients, and the GRAH Family. We’re lucky to have him. ❤️

And yes… if you’re wondering why we don’t have a nice, recent portrait of Jon for this post… you clearly don’t know Jon very well. 😂📸 He may be a favorite on the clinic floor, but he is definitely camera shy! So, Jon, we hope you enjoy this beautifully cropped and suspiciously zoomed-in group photo. 😉

Happy 23rd Anniversary, Jon!
Thank you for everything you do and for being such an important part of the GRAH Family. Here’s to many more! 🐾❤️

🍂🐾 Is the colder weather slowing your pup down? 🐾❄️

As temperatures drop, you may notice your dog taking a little longer to get up, hesitating on the stairs, slowing down on walks, or not jumping onto the couch like they used to. While it can be easy to chalk these changes up to “just getting older,” they can also be signs of osteoarthritis (OA) pain.

OA is a painful, progressive joint disease, and it can affect dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds. Cold weather may make some dogs with arthritis more uncomfortable, making those subtle changes easier to notice. ❤️

The good news is that OA pain can be managed! At GRAH, we offer Librela, a once-monthly injection specifically approved for the control of OA pain in dogs. Clinical studies have shown that Librela can help control OA pain and improve mobility and quality of life for many dogs. 🐶🐾

Of course, every dog is different, and Librela isn't the right choice for every patient. Your veterinarian can evaluate your dog, discuss the available options, and determine whether Librela is appropriate for them.

Not sure if your dog's recent changes could be signs of OA pain? 🧐 Zoetis has a helpful OA Pain Quiz that can help you recognize some of the signs to look for.

We’re still working on his front desk skills, but he’s already mastered the most important part: looking cute on the job. 😂❤️

🌎🐾 World Rabies Day — September 28 🐾🌎

Rabies is one of those diseases we don’t see often in our pets, thanks in large part to vaccination and prevention programs, but that doesn’t mean we should forget about it.

In the U.S., more than 90% of reported rabies cases in animals occur in wildlife, including bats, raccoons, skunks, and foxes. 🦇🦝🦨 Even pets who stay close to home can potentially be exposed.

The good news? Rabies is preventable! Keeping your dog or cat up to date on their rabies vaccine is one of the simplest and most important ways to protect your pet, your family, and your community. ❤️

In Franklin County, rabies vaccination is required for dogs, cats, and ferrets. After vaccination, dogs and cats receive a rabies tag that includes an identification number and the year the vaccination expires. That number is also recorded on your pet’s rabies vaccination certificate, helping connect the tag to their vaccination record if there is a possible exposure. 🏷️

Depending on the vaccine used, rabies vaccination is typically given every 1 or 3 years, so make sure your pet’s vaccine stays current. 🐶🐱💉

Rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms appear, but vaccination and appropriate response after an exposure can prevent the disease.

A simple vaccine can make a very big difference. ❤️

Throwback Thursday with our sweet Winnie! 🐾❤️

A few months after her back surgery (2025), Winnie was already showing everyone that nothing was going to slow her down, especially when it came to seeing her favorite tech! 🥰🐶 Just look at that little tail going!

Winnie’s pawrents played such an important role in her recovery, and seeing her happy, determined, and back to doing what she loves was so special. 💕

Now 7 years old, this sweet Dachshund mix continues to remind us that nothing can stop her from being the happiest girl. ❤️🐾

🎉 Happy Birthday, Jana! 🎉

We may still be getting to know Jana, but we’re already happy to have her as part of the GRAH family! 🐾❤️ She has a special interest in exotic animals and has been taking every opportunity to learn and build her skills in small animal medicine.

We’re excited to see her continue learning and growing with us! 🥰

Help us wish Jana a very happy birthday! 🎂🐾
