🚨 Bone safety reminder! This bone became stuck around this pup’s jaw and needed a little veterinary help to remove.

When choosing bones, pay attention to the size, shape, and hardness. 🦴 If you can’t make an indentation with your thumbnail, it’s likely too hard for your dog’s teeth and can lead to painful dental fractures.

When in doubt, skip the bone! 🐶🦷

This past weekend, Coyote Ridge Veterinary Clinic was proudly represented at the Fairplay B***o Pack Race! 🫏🏔️

Dr. Fauron and Dr. Cavanagh traded stethoscopes for lead ropes and teamed up with two tiny donkeys with BIG personalities: Little Jethro and Mojo.
Together, they took on the 12-mile “short course,” where these amazing mini donkeys brought plenty of opinions, determination, stubbornness, and unforgettable moments along the way.

Donkeys are wonderful animals: smart, strong, and full of personality, but they are also incredibly stubborn! Little Jethro and Mojo very much set the pace for the day. There were moments of running, moments of negotiating, and plenty of moments of moving at a very… slow… pace. A little patience, a lot of laughs, and a great day outdoors made for an incredible adventure.
A huge shoutout to the town of Fairplay for hosting such a fantastic event and to Amber and Brad at Redonkulous Ranch for sharing these amazing athletes with Coyote Ridge! 🐴💚

Coyote Ridge can’t wait to be back next year for more miles, more memories, and more donkey adventures! 🫏✨

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July from all of us at Coyote Ridge Veterinary Clinic! ❤️🤍💙

We hope you and your furry family have a fun, safe holiday. Remember to keep pets indoors during fireworks, provide a quiet space, and make sure their ID tags are up to date.

Happy Independence Day! 🐾🎆

06/26/2026

🎆 Fireworks are fun for us… but they can be one of the scariest nights of the year for our pets.

Did you know more dogs go missing on the Fourth of July than any other day of the year? Loud noises can cause even the calmest dogs to panic and run.

🐾 Help keep your pet safe by:
• Keeping them indoors during fireworks
• Making sure their ID tags and microchip information are up to date
• Providing a quiet, comfortable space away from the noise
• Closing windows, blinds, and curtains
• Turning on the TV, music, or a fan to help muffle the sounds
• Talking to your veterinarian ahead of time if your pet has severe anxiety

A little preparation can make a big difference. We hope everyone has a safe, happy, and stress free Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙
