We couldn’t do what we do without our referring veterinary partners. 💚

As part of our grand opening celebrations, we welcomed more than 150 partners to explore our new spaces, connect with our team, and learn more about the resources we offer. Our clinical trials, veterinary continuing education, and diagnostic laboratory teams shared their work and connected with partners throughout the event.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, especially those who came as a team! We loved getting to know you better and look forward to hosting more events like this. By working together, we can continue strengthening partnerships and improving care for the patients we serve.

For World Rabies Day, Sam Evans and Christie Mayo put their rabies knowledge to the test with a quick guessing game.

Behind the game is a serious topic. Our new blog takes a closer look at rabies, including how the disease is diagnosed and what goes into testing for the virus.

New study alert 🚨

We’re digging into a new approach to chronic pain in horses.

Our team is studying ketamine in horses diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the coffin and pastern joints. Horses receive a series of ketamine infusions, then we evaluate their movement using gait analysis software and a force plate to measure how weight is distributed across each hoof.

Curious about the study? Learn more about the research, what we hope to learn, and how to get involved: https://csuveterinaryhealth.org/csu-clinical-trial-studies-ketamine-therapy-to-help-horses-with-chronic-arthritis-pain/

Let's tear down the stigma.

Veterinary medicine can come with unique pressures, and talking about mental health isn't always easy. Let's create a space where people can talk openly, ask for help, and support one another without shame.

This Su***de Prevention Month, we're making space for the conversation.

You know the call you dread: Your horse has a mysterious laceration from being out in the pasture.

That’s what happened to Becca and her horse, Chenoa. It was a heel bulb laceration. At first, Chenoa seemed to be recovering well. Then, suddenly, she stopped putting weight on her leg.

When Chenoa was brought to our team, we discovered the wound had led to a septic joint. The infection was life-threatening, and Becca was faced with some difficult decisions.

She chose to move forward with arthroscopy to clean the infection from the joint and remove damaged tissue. After a couple of weeks in our care, Chenoa was ready to go home.

Today? She’s back with her equine buddies and out on rides with Becca. ❤️

There’s more to Chenoa’s story than a happy ending. Read the full story at: https://csuveterinaryhealth.org/how-a-high-risk-surgery-saved-a-horse-from-a-life-threatening-joint-infection/

🐕‍🦺🇺🇸 Never forget the search and rescue dogs who worked through the rubble in the aftermath of 9/11.

In a time of loss, these dogs and handlers symbolized courage, compassion, and hope. Their work comforted families, aided the search for the missing, and showed how humans and animals unite in darkness.

We remember those lost, families changed, and all who answered the call to help.

While many are enjoying a day off for Labor Day, our team is here 24/7. Because animals don’t take holidays. We’re grateful for the veterinary professionals and essential workers who give their all today (and every day) 🩺
