Another week of equine arthroscopy is in the books! Thank you to everyone who attended the 43rd year of basic and advanced equine arthroscopy. This training provides veterinarians with minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat challenging joint conditions in horses to improve and maintain their athletic activity.

🌎✈️ These courses always bring an international crowd to CSU, and this year was no exception. Our instructors had the privilege of training veterinarians from France, Switzerland, Sweden, Chile, UK, Canada, and Australia. What an incredible group to work with!

🪡 To help build your muscle memory and steel your nerves in the operating room, we've designed surgery courses with hours of intensive, hands-on training. Feel more confident when you return to your practice, ready with your new skills and better prepared to treat your patients when general surgery is needed.

✅ Improve your patient's mobility by reducing pain and stabilizing the stifle joint with Surgical Correction of Patellar Luxation. After 7.5 hours in our lab, this procedure will go from daunting to doable.

✅ Elevate your abdominal surgery skills with Next Level Soft Tissue Surgery: Advanced Abdominal Surgery. With 13 hours of lab time, you'll leave this course ready to perform gastropexy, cholecystectomy, splenectomy, and diaphragmatic hernia procedures.

✅ Help your patients recover from mass removals and traumatic wounds with Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for the Small Animal Surgeon. Over the 7 hours of lab time, you'll develop the necessary skills to complete simple and complex reconstructive procedures involving the head, trunk, and extremities.

✅ Another Advanced Cardiology Review is in the books!

Directed by Dr. Brian Scansen, professor and service head of cardiology and cardiac surgery at Colorado State University. This course offers four days of instruction that focuses on nearly all aspects of clinical veterinary cardiology.

📍 We want to thank everyone who joined us this year at the Translational Medicine Institute. We had over 60 cardiologists come from across the U.S.A. including folks who traveled internationally from Thailand, China, Canada, UK, Germany, and Sweden.

Twice a year during spring and fall, we host MIS Week at the Translational Medicine Institute where small animal veterinarians learn minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic ovariectomy and gastropexy procedures.

To ensure vets leave these courses with the muscle memory and clinical confidence needed to implement these procedures in their practice, we partner with local rescues to provide no-cost surgeries to their dogs. These surgeries save these rescues thousands of dollars that can be utilized for other critical needs–all while helping dogs find their forever homes 💚 💛.

MIS Week is one of our favorite ways to make a local impact while elevating the standard of care these incredible, loving dogs deserve. Plus, we get dog cuddles! It's a win for everyone.

Thanks to the rescues who partnered with us this spring: Big Bones Canine Rescue, Mile High Canine Rescue, and Bounce Animal Rescue.
