Your senior dog may be hearing less than they used to. 🐶💙

Age-related hearing loss is common and often develops gradually. You might notice your dog doesn't respond to their name, sleeps more deeply, startles more easily, or doesn't react to familiar sounds like the doorbell or squeaky toys.

If you've noticed changes in your dog's hearing or behavior, schedule a veterinary exam. Your veterinarian can help determine the cause and recommend ways to keep your dog safe, comfortable, and confident.

Every service and guide dog begins with puppy raisers, volunteers who teach early manners, socialization, and confidence before formal training begins.

Those early experiences shape the dogs who will one day change lives.

Thank you to the raisers for helping build future working partners 💛

Summer adventures are more fun when safety comes first ☀️🐾

Warmer weather can increase the risk of heat exhaustion, burned paw pads, dehydration, and other seasonal emergencies for pets. Before heading outside, make sure your pet has access to shade, fresh water, and cool surfaces to walk on.

A good rule of thumb: if the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws. Try to plan walks during cooler morning or evening hours and always watch for signs of overheating like excessive panting, lethargy, vomiting, or difficulty breathing.

With a little extra caution, you can help your pet enjoy a safe and happy summer all season long ❤️

Not every ear problem starts with obvious pain.

If your pet is frequently shaking their head, scratching at their ears, or avoiding touch around their head, it may be more than a minor irritation.

Watch for signs like:

👂 Redness

👂 Unpleasant odor

👂 Discharge

👂 Excessive scratching

👂 Sensitivity when touched

Ear issues can worsen over time and become increasingly uncomfortable for your pet. Early evaluation can help identify the cause and get them feeling better sooner.

Pets cannot tell us when something hurts, but changes in movement can speak volumes. 🐾

Limping, stiffness, hesitation to jump, or changes in activity level may sometimes point to orthopedic concerns that require medical treatment or even surgery. Cats often hide discomfort, while dogs may show more noticeable mobility changes.

Recognizing the signs early can help identify problems sooner and support better outcomes for your pet’s comfort and mobility. 💙
