🐾💙 Happy Veterinary Technician Week! 💙🐾

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible veterinary assistants who make a difference every single day! 🐶🐱

From comforting nervous patients and supporting families to assisting with procedures, monitoring anesthesia, running diagnostics, and providing compassionate care behind the scenes, our technicians are truly the heart of veterinary medicine.

Veterinary assistants wear so many hats, often juggling a million things at once while making sure every patient gets the love, attention, and care they deserve. Their knowledge, dedication, teamwork, and compassion do not go unnoticed!

To our amazing medical team at VCA Fort Collins Animal Hospital, thank you for everything you do for our patients, our clients, and each other. We are so grateful for the hard work, long days, and big hearts you bring to our hospital every day. You make a difference in more ways than you know! 🐾💙

Help us celebrate our medical team! Drop a 💙 in the comments to show them some love!

Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

🐾 4th of July Pet Safety Reminder — Don’t Wait Until the Fireworks Start! 🐾🇺🇸

We’re just about a week away from the 4th of July, and now is the best time to start preparing for your pet’s comfort and safety during fireworks season.

Many pets experience anxiety from loud noises like fireworks, but there are ways we can help keep them calm and safe.

Here’s how you can get ahead of the holiday:

🏡 Create a Safe Space
Set up a quiet, comfortable area in your home where your pet can relax if fireworks start.

🔊 Reduce Noise Exposure
Close windows, curtains, and use white noise, TV, or calming music to help mask loud sounds.

🐕 Exercise Early in the Day
A long walk or play session earlier in the day can help reduce stress and excess energy.

📛 Check ID & Microchip Info
Make sure your pet’s tags and microchip information are current in case they get scared and escape.

💊 Don’t Wait—Ask Us About Anxiety Support
If your pet struggles with noise anxiety, now is the time to schedule an appointment. We can discuss safe and effective options, including anxiety medications, to help keep them calm and comfortable during fireworks.

💛 Stay Calm & Be Present
Your pet looks to you for reassurance—your calm presence makes a big difference.

📅 Appointments fill quickly before the holiday, so book now to make sure your pet is prepared in time!

Let’s make this 4th of July safe and stress-free for every pet. 🎆🐶🐱
