"Hector was adopted from HES in 2013 and recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge just a couple of weeks shy of his 17th birthday. He was nothing short of magnificent and the heart of our family - a beautiful and gentle soul who loved and was loved beyond measure. It would honor his memory greatly to be included in next year's calendar and help other HES dogs. Hector leaves behind Buddy, Patch, Thomasina, and Barbara, also adopted from our shelter. We will see you on the other side, dear boy!"

As of today, Galadriel has officially been in HES care for 1 year, and she is currently our longest resident canine. We don't want her to wait another day for her forever family to find her!

So, we're going to post every week "Get To Know Galadriel," to tell you a little about this sweet girl!

Coco is a bouncy, playful, and very social girl in search of a pack! This 4-year-old gal still has plenty of youthful energy while also being old enough to respond to commands and learn new behaviors. As a student of our training team, she has shown her intelligence and that she loves to learn! With her high energy level and love of play, we think that Coco would do best in a home with other dogs, as long as they can match her rough-and-tumble play style. She loves to wrestle and play chase, and a playmate or two in her forever home would make her very happy. Other favorite activities of hers include playing tug-of-war and keep-away with her rope toys, and running around in the sprinkler. Simply put, she's just a fun-loving gal, and she can't wait to find her forever home!

Meet Joseph! This sweet, fluffy guy has come so far since he was found abandoned in a parking lot in this summer. He gets braver every day! He is learning to love pets and curling up near people, and is very slowly figuring out what toys are and how to play. (He does enjoy wrestling with his brothers, though!). He is becoming very affectionate and has the biggest, roundest eyes that take in everything. Pillows (particularly his fosters' pillows) and his cat tree are nap time favorites. It was discovered by accident that he has a sweet tooth! So if you ever need help coaxing him over to be petted, he would be more than happy to help you clean up cookie crumbs or lick your empty ice cream bowl clean!

Our next community vaccine clinic will be held Oct. 24th, 10AM – 12PM at The Commons in Collegedale: 4950 Swinyar Dr.

This event is first come, first served so we recommend arriving early! Services and prices are shown here. All dogs MUST be on a leash and cats MUST be in a carrier.

A sweet and beautifully well-mannered 5-year-old Carolina Dog, she truly lives up to her name! Blessing is the kind of dog who makes being a good girl look easy. She is calm, observant, and thoughtful, with a gentle temperament and lovely manners. She’s food motivated, listens well, and is already house-trained, making her an especially wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog who is ready to settle into home life.

Blessing is friendly with everyone she meets and walks gently on leash. She has a wonderful balance of affection and independence - she enjoys spending time with her people and getting some love and attention, but she doesn’t need to be attached to your hip every minute of the day. If you have lost or found an animal, visit heschatt.org/lostandfound for resources.

**This is a courtesy post and does not include every animal under HES care. Please come to the facility to do a lost pet walk-through if you are missing an animal, and check back frequently if you have not found your pet.

Teddy (FKA "Possum") was adopted from HES in 2018. His mom said he is the brightest thing in her life. Teddy will be featured in the HES calendar on Oct 16th! She knows she is biased, but his mom thinks he's pretty much the cutest dog ever born. ☺️ Though Teddy and his family moved to Colorado, they're still supporting HES from afar by purchasing an HES Incredible Pets, Incredible Journeys calendar and reserving Teddy a special day!
