Tennessee Aquarium

Tennessee Aquarium A remarkable journey from the mountains to the sea! Within our two buildings, you’ll trace the path of water from the mountains to the sea.

Come face-to-face with the fascinating native animals that live in our backyards and the amazing creatures that thrive in some of the most remote locations on Earth. We celebrate the rich biodiversity of the Southeast through our exhibits and are actively engaged in preserving and restoring that biodiversity through our work in the field.

Meet the Fellow! Faye Stephens is a Jim Hill Fellow for Aquatic Husbandry here at the Tennessee Aquarium.

She shares what it’s like to help care for the animals behind the scenes and be part of the National Geographic’s Photo Ark project by Joel Sartore when it came to the aquarium.

Every Friday, we’re spotlighting one of the fellows at the Tennessee Aquarium, what they do, why it matters, and what it’s actually like to spend your summer inside one of the coolest places in the world.

Follow along for more Fellows Friday features all summer.

We recently celebrated the birthdays of our Red Ruffed lemur siblings, Avior and Lyra! 🥳
You only turn 18 once, so of course their enrichment was a treat-filled 'scratch off' ticket. 🎉

Probability of winning these treats: 100%.

The first exhibit that you'll see in the Tennessee Aquarium's newest gallery, Scuttlebutt Reef, is home to two Green Moray Eels. Have you seen them yet? They love to hide in the nooks of the exhibit, but they come out during feeding time. Join us for this Facebook Live as an aquarist explains their diet, eating style, and then feeds the two eels. Come watch the action online.
