It’s that time of year again and the Lynwood Animal Hospital staff have once again decided to participate as a team at one of largest fundraisers in support of the Ottawa Humane Society.

The money that is raised is incredibly helpful and is used throughout the Humane Society in their animal care for both domestic and wild animals of which they receive in huge numbers each year. It is used to ensure basic care of the animals as well as for the more advanced care needs for their more sick and injured patients.

We have a sweet girl to highlight today. Meet sweet Stella, a 4 month old Golden Retriever. Stella is a very lovely girl that loves everyone. She came for her vaccines and was a super star! After her appointment was done she did a little tour through the clinic and said hello to everyone. You can see how focused she was for he treat as her little tongue is sticking out.

Last week we said goodbye to Adina. Adina joined the team in 2022 and assumed various roles throughout the last couple years. While she spent the majority of her time working as an assistant, she would also help out at the front desk when needed. Over the last year you might have seen her during appointments doing nail trims and injections.
We wish her the best as she goes back to school or obtain her masters degree!

We messed up... Our sweet friend Chuck came for his annual exam and we had a fun sign and a birthday hay ready to go to share his pictures with our followers. Chuck posed nicely, even though he was not fully impressed with the hat and then we forgot to show you the results of his photoshoot.

Isn't our friend April stunning? This little bird is a Bourke's parakeet, just like our own Harriet. Even though they are the same species, their plumage is very different. Harriet has a mutation that makes her plumage bright pink! Another fun fact about April is that he is actually a boy! Up until about 9 months of age both male and female birds look very similar, but after that the male will have a blue forehead like you can see is the case with April. These birds tend to be very friendly and April certainly enjoyed the attention and stepped up for us. After his exam he sat nicely on top of his cage and showed off how handsome he really is.

Meet another cutie patient! Jax is an almost 5 month old Dachshund. Jax has been coming to get all his puppy vaccines and spread some puppy love. We are excited to be a part of his journey and watch him grow.

We try to make every visit for our patients as stress free as possible. In some cases our bunnies feel like they are at a spa getting their massage and relaxing.
Peachez, an 8 year old lop, came for her annual exam and definitely enjoyed her visit. As soon as the back massage started she stretched out and relaxed for the remainder of her appointment. Look at those cute little feet! ♥
