🌟 Congratulations to Natasha Kervin, recipient of the 2026 CVMA International Student Leadership Award for her leadership and achievement in student affairs!

Natasha Kervin is a third-year veterinary student from Calgary, Alberta, currently studying at the University of Edinburgh’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. She is currently in her final year of veterinary school and is considering specializing in exotic companion animal medicine after graduation.

In her free time, Natasha enjoys baking, dancing, and arts and crafts. Throughout her veterinary school journey, she has taken on several leadership roles that have helped her step outside her comfort zone and foster a strong sense of community within the vet school.

In her first year, she served as a student representative for her class, acting as a liaison between students and staff to communicate feedback and concerns about the curriculum. She also represented her year as the International Student of the CVMA Representative (ISCVMA).

Currently, Natasha holds two key leadership roles as co-captain of the vet school’s women’s football (soccer) club and as a senior VetPAL (Peer Assisted Learning) leader. Both roles have been incredibly rewarding, strengthening her teamwork, communication, and teaching skills while allowing her to mentor teammates and first- and second-year students, and contribute to an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The One Voice presentation and Hot Topic discussion on the “Spectrum of Care” at the FMV was a great success! â˜ș

Students from all years attended to listen, engage, and ask questions to our panel of four faculty doctors. We were fortunate to have experienced clinicians from different areas of veterinary medicine participate in these enriching discussions. As a bonus, students enjoyed delicious snacks, and many left the session with fantastic prizes generously provided by the CVMA.🎁

Panelists (left to right): Dr. Susana Maria Maciera Moutinho Neves, Dr. Jean-Philippe Roy, Dr. Yasmine Besserour, and Dr. Marie-Claude Blais.
