The sweet cuddly BLAZE, who was a "spitfire" at the vet's yesterday, was back to his sweet self as soon as he got home! 😸 Some learn early unfortunately that the vet's is a traumatic place, so hopefully for his sake he stays healthy with good food and care, and requires no additional vet visits other than his regular yearly check-ups & vaccines.🙏🥰

Do you know how cats can recognize each other through smell? Apparently it's a fatty acid in kidney fat droplets in their urine. Don't cats have an incredible sense of smell? 😸

FOLLOW-UP ON HOMELESS KITTENS! According to the contact of the people whose yard this little family was in, they said they placed a pair of kittens in a home. Hopefully a responsible home who will spay and neuter the kittens and not allow them to continue to reproduce outside..... They also told us they have an appointment with the SPCA next week for the other pair, so hopefully they will be adopted out together.🙏 Paws crossed for this poor little family that all will go well for all of them. 🙏😻

GOOD NEWS UPDATE!
Bonded Momma MELBA & TRISCUIT moved to their wonderful new forever home today.They were scared so we don't have any photos to share, but hopefully soon! Congrats to them and their adopters and thanks to everyone who made this happen - the volunteers who helped with logistics / transport, the donators of cat trees for the girls, their year-long fosters who did all the work & of course thank you to their new human family! ❤

Baby BLAZE was at the vet's today for a 2nd round of de-worming and an exam, but he did not like the vet and put up quite a fight! This sweet boy turned into a little spitfire over there! We are behind in our responses to interested adopters, and will get to them this weekend. Sorry for the delay and thanks for your patience! 😻

GOOD CAT NEWS! A missing cat named CARAMEL has been found at Pearson Airport and reunited with his owner, after being missing for 2 weeks!! What a relief. 🙏❤

A Montreal woman’s cat has been found alive after spending more than two weeks loose at Toronto Pearson International Airport. 🐱

Caramel disappeared on August 17 while travelling with her owner, and three other cats from Jordan to Montreal.

The cat was last seen around Pearson’s Terminal 3 after escaping into a secure airport area, prompting airport wildlife crews to conduct searches and set humane traps.

After more than two weeks, a tip from an airport worker helped crews narrow their search to the Vista Cargo area.

Caramel was safely captured Wednesday night inside an airport cargo facility. Despite her unexpected airport adventure, she was found alive and is being reunited with her owner in Montreal. 🥹❤️

ALERT - leave plants standing to help wildlife / birds / insects through winter - just like Mother Nature does!

The coneflower that finished blooming in August is still working. The dried seed head standing in your garden right now is a feeder — goldfinches cling to it all winter and pick seeds one at a time.

Black-eyed Susans do the same thing. So do asters and goldenrod. The stems you're about to cut down are holding food above the snow line for sparrows and juncos that have no other source in January.

🌿 The spent look is the point. A garden that looks "finished" in October is one that's still feeding birds in February.

She'll look messy through winter. She'll look like a feeder to everything that stayed
