Pets and their People is a team founded by Alan Dalgarno, Veronica Wah Day and Peter Hangartner. Since 1998 we have been caring for your pets at the Unley, Fulham Gardens and Black Forest Veterinary Surgeries. In 2013 Pets and their People was created and every member of our teams recognizes that you and your pet share a unique bond. As pet owners the bond we share with our pets greatly enhance ou

r lives, bringing joy and companionship, creating strong social and community networks, enhancing physical and mental health and well being. Facilities and equipment are merely part of the foundation of what we do…Our vets and nurses thrive on continuing education, and as a team we continually analyse what and why we do things. We have a diverse team of professionals that share a common set of values especially regarding the important role pets play in our lives. We strive to be great communicators and offer the highest standard of veterinary care. We see our role as providing opportunities to maintain and optimise your relationship with your pet. Together with our great team, our mission is to continue to care for you and your pets to enhance your lives together. We have three Adelaide vet surgery locations: Fulham Gardens Vet Surgery in Adelaide's western suburbs, Unley Vet and Black Forest Vet Surgeries in Adelaide's inner eastern and southern suburbs.

Behind the scenes of Dental Month with Geordie! 🦷

Ever wondered what happens during your pet’s dental procedure? Come along for Geordie’s day with us! 💙

📸 1. Admission: Geordie starts with his nurse admission appointment, including a full vitals check. Next up, IV catheter placement and pre-anaesthetic blood tests.

📸 2. Getting ready: Geordie settles into his cage while our surgical team gets everything prepared.

📸 3. Premed time: His IV pre-medication has been given, and he’s tucked under a cosy blanket to keep him warm. 🥰

📸 4. Surprise finding: During his examination, we also discovered an ear infection. Cytology showed a yeast infection, so Geordie went home with medication to clear it up. 👂

📸 5 & 6. Before & after: Geordie had Grade 1 dental disease, but a professional clean has given those teeth a lovely fresh finish! 🦷✨

📸 7. Dental X-rays: Dr Maddie performed full-mouth dental X-rays to check the tooth roots and make sure everything looked healthy below the gumline.

📸 8. The important part: Fresh chicken in recovery! 🍗 Safe to say Geordie approved.

📸 10. Fresh air: A little outdoor toilet walk in the sunshine while he continued to wake up. ☀️🐾

📸 11. Home time: All ready to head home, with fresh breath and a home dental care plan in place. Discharge instructions were discussed with his owner so they know how to keep those pearly whites clean at home. 🏡🦷

Whilst we know the pain of losing a furry friend never goes away, we hope today and everyday you can remember all of the good times shared.

🎉🐾 Celebrating 20 Years of Tamsin! 🐾🎉

Yesterday we celebrated an incredible milestone, 20 YEARS of Veterinary Nursing for Tamsin, and 20 years as part of the Pets & Their People family! 💜🧡

Tamsin is not only an incredibly passionate Veterinary Nurse, but is also a qualified midwife, because apparently one career helping people and animals wasn’t enough!

She’s our resident crazy cat lady 😻, has a special talent for winning over the spiciest of cats 🌶️🐈, and has a particular soft spot for male tuxedo cats. 🖤🤍

Twenty years is an amazing achievement, and we’re so lucky to have had Tamsin as part of our team for all these years.

Congratulations on 20 years, Tamsin! 🥂🐾

Here’s to many more years of nursing, spicy cats, tuxedo boys and everything in between! 💕
