June 4th is Hug Your Cat Day, so please take a moment today, to show your feline friends some extra special love & attention, for all the unconditional love & emotional support they provide you everyday. The best way to celebrate Hug Your Cat Day is to give your cat exactly what they like best, which might not actually be a physical hug. Meet Millie 🐾

Beautiful Millie the Bernese Mountain Dog visited us recently, and like many large breed dogs, arthritis is something we keep a close eye on as they get older.

Signs of arthritis can include stiffness, slowing down on walks, struggling to get up, or not wanting to jump like they used to 🐶

The good news is there are lots of ways we can help keep arthritic pets comfortable and happy. From weight management and supplements to medications and lifestyle changes ✨

If you’ve noticed your pet slowing down, book them in for a check-up 📆

Meet Tiger 🐅

Tiger visited us recently for some itchy skin. This is something we see quite commonly in dogs, especially when allergies flare up.

If your dog is scratching, licking their paws, chewing at their skin, or getting recurrent ear infections, it might be more than “just being itchy” 🐶

Skin issues can have lots of different causes, so it’s important to get them checked properly to help keep your pet comfortable and prevent things from getting worse.

If your pet is feeling itchy, book them in for a vet check today.

Meet Marlo 🐾

Marlo recently visited us and was the perfect patient from start to finish ✨

Plenty of tail wags, lots of pats, and a few well-earned treats later, this sweet pup had the team wrapped around his paw 🐶

We love getting to care for gorgeous patients like Marlo

Fun Fact Friday!
Did you know... Cats are the only known mammals that completely lack the genetic ability to taste sweetness?? Cats have a genetic mutation that disables their sweet taste receptors, meaning they can’t taste sugar. Instead their taste buds are finely tuned to detect umami & adenosine triphosphate’s, compounds found in living cells that signal the presence of fresh meat. Cats are also highly sensitive to bitter tastes, which is an evolutionary defense mechanism to help them avoid spoiled food or toxins.
