Swipe to see Poppy’s baby teeth that wouldn’t fall out! ⮕

Retained deciduous teeth (also known as baby teeth) can cause a number of issues in cats and dogs. This occurs when deciduous teeth fail to fall out after permanent teeth emerge resulting in overcrowding, pain, malocclusion and periodontal disease.

These retained deciduous teeth require extraction under general anaesthesia, typically at time of desexing. However, all pets receive personalised advice from our experienced veterinarians.

If you have noticed a 'double row' of teeth or persistent baby teeth in your pet, book an appointment today!

Meet an adorable guest receptionist Ynez!

She is a tiny 9 week old puppy who is very curious about life, and regularly comes into clinic to become desensitised to the vet!

It is very important to desensitise dogs and kittens to all things such as people, objects, handling and different settings - especially vet clinics. The key window for this learning is during the ‘sensitive period’ which typically occurs while puppies are between 3-16 weeks old, and while kittens are between 2-10 weeks old. What they experience during this time has a lasting impact on their behaviour and wellbeing, with positive exposure helping to build trust and reduce stress later in life.

We love having little visitors like Ynez helping us make the clinic a friendly, safe space for all pets 🐾

🐾 New Puppy or Kitten? We’re here to help! 🐾

Welcoming a new puppy or kitten into your family is exciting - but it can also feel a little overwhelming. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our Puppy & Kitten Nurse Consultations.

Our veterinary nurses offer dedicated one-on-one appointments to help new owners get started with confidence. You’re welcome to attend with or without your new pet, depending on what feels most comfortable for you. These consults focus on creating a positive, low-stress experience at the vet, while giving you the time and support to ask all your questions.

During a nurse consult, we can help with:
- Parasite prevention
- Nutrition and feeding advice
- Grooming, bathing, and handling tips
- Microchip checks
- Puppy Preschool
- And anything else you’d like to know!

You’ll also receive easy-to-understand take-home information to guide you through your pet’s early months.

Bonus: All Puppy & Kitten Nurse Consults include a FREE Hill’s Science Diet Puppy or Starter bag to help your new family member get off to a healthy start.

Books available now - contact our friendly staff on (08) 8365 5010 to book your Puppy & Kitten Nurse Consult.
