Louis is a gorgeous 12-year-old Standard Poodle who came to see us after his owners noticed his ears were bothering him.
With lots of hair and wax buildup, it was tricky to properly check his ear canals. Under a short general anaesthetic, Dr Katrina gently removed the matted hair and excess wax, allowing us to take a sample and have a closer look under the microscope. This showed a mild ear infection.
Louis’ ears were then thoroughly cleaned with a special solution called Epiotic sis, and a long-acting ear treatment was applied to help clear the infection.
We’re happy to say Louis will be feeling much more comfortable now, and we’re pretty sure he’ll be hearing a bit better too! 🐶✨

This long weekend and into next week, temperatures are set to be very high. Please keep your pets indoors where possible, ideally with air conditioning, and ensure they always have access to plenty of fresh water.
Be on the lookout for any signs of heatstroke, if you’re concerned, contact us immediately.
