Using a simple combination of visual assessment and some basic physical examinations it is easy to get a quick idea about whether your pet is over-weight.

It’s easy to underestimate what “just one kilo” means for our pets.

On a small dog, one extra kilo is about 10% of their total weight — the human equivalent of carrying around an extra 7kg.

For a medium dog, that same kilo is like an average person gaining 3kg.
Even small weight gains can begin to affect your pet’s joints, energy levels, and overall wellbeing.

We’ll be closed on Monday the 2nd and Tuesday the 3rd of November for the Melbourne Cup long weekend, and will back to our usual hours on from Wednesday the 4th of November.

As we head into the break, please remember to pre‑plan any food or medication orders your pets may need.
If you’re running low, now’s the perfect time to get in touch so we can make sure your furry family stays happy and well‑supplied.
