Here’s another case update and another very common issue. This is Py and as a 3 year old in 2020 he came to us with an infected cheek tooth ( common issue ), included in this post are some images explaining some of the issue and the solution. Py comes back annually for checkups and now as a 9 year old weighing 550kg ( he was 442 in 2020 ) is happy and healthy.
It’s not that unusual to hear people worry about how a patient will cope … without the tooth. Whilst that’s an understandable concern it is for the most part one that needn’t cause concern. Regular checkups and routine management are usually all that’s required post op ( and every horse should be getting this care anyway ) SO that’s a little part of Pys story and maybe it can connect with and help someone with a horse that might need similar help to find the right resources.
