And we want you to meet Ketta. 🧡
Look at that sweet face — and know that behind it, Ketta is dealing with a lot. She's a little less than 3 years old and came to us this week after her owner realized she could no longer provide the level of care Ketta needs.
Ketta's back legs are malformed, with oblong kneecaps and mismatched bones that leave her with hip dysplasia and very little muscle to support her. One of our vet partners is sending her x-rays out for a specialist consult to figure out whether surgery or physical therapy could help, or whether our focus should be on strategies to keep her as comfortable as possible for the long run.
She also has urinary crystals and a stone large enough that diet alone might not dissolve it, so she's starting a prescription urinary food to see how she responds. And her sweet smushed-in little face, while undeniably cute, makes it harder for her to breathe and is likely contributing to the respiratory infection she's currently being treated for.
We are here for Ketta.
