Sgt. Stubby was a Connecticut stray dog turned WWI hero. He is credited with saving many lives and was also a morale booster for the men and women serving our country during a very difficult war. He was the first dog ever promoted to sergeant in the U.S. Army!

Serving with the 102nd Infantry, Sergeant Stubby is still remembered as one of the most decorated war dogs in U.S. history. Thank you for your service Stubby and thank you to all who served as we honor you on this Memorial Day.

Beautiful Stella is thriving under hospice care. Stella is a senior kitty with cancer. She has beat all odds and survived comfortably for many years due to her amazing family and good vet care. The Goldendoodle is a very popular dog breed. They are a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. They are highly social, intelligent and often sought out for therapy dog work. They adore kids and make great family dogs. They are "somewhat " hypoallergenic and require a professional grooming every 6- 8 weeks or their fur will become extremely matted. They have sweet and silly temperaments.

☀️🐾 HOT WEATHER SAFETY FOR DOGS 🐾☀️

As temperatures rise, our dogs depend on us to keep them safe. Even a few minutes in extreme heat can quickly become dangerous — and even deadly.

🚫 Never leave your dog in the carA parked car can reach deadly temperatures within minutes, even on a mild day.

🌱 Walk smartChoose grass over hot asphalt, keep walks short, and bring plenty of water.

🏠 When in doubt, leave them homeYour pup will always be safer and cooler relaxing indoors.

⚠️ Know the signs of heatstroke:Excessive panting, bright red tongue, vomiting, diarrhea, discolored gums, weakness, or trouble walking. If you notice these signs, contact a veterinarian immediately.

📢 See something? Say something.If you see a dog left in a hot car or in distress, call local animal control or police right away. In Connecticut, there are legal protections for helping dogs in immediate danger.

Regular professional dental cleaning are important because they may reveal hidden issues in your pet. This dog showed no obvious symptoms at home. Dogs will always (most always) continue to eat and drink normally even with a broken tooth. The break extended into the root canal. The tooth was successfully surgically extracted. The patient went home on pain medications and a new toothbrush.
