Sorry we have been MIA. I fell a couple of weeks ago and badly hurt my leg and foot. My foot is almost at the point of allowing me to wear a shoe again. Still waiting on MRI results as I injuried my meniscus. ☹️ Thank you to my clients for allowing me to push your lessons out until I am back walking again. 🫶

Please enjoy Moose a while back enjoying the last rays of summer. 💫

Just me and my guy talking about play, motivation, fulfillment, and the lack of a need for “corrections” to just enjoy the heck out of your dog.

Piper’s First Dopamine Box Session 🪣

The goal of a dopamine box is to establish a behavior with a strong reinforcement history: putting her head in the box, staying engaged, and continuously seeking reinforcement.

Over time, this behavior can become predictable and highly motivating for the dog, even as we gradually introduce distractions, noises, movement, or other activities around her.

For Piper, we’re not there yet. She’s sensitive to noise, so even the sound of food hitting the plastic bucket is something we need to consider.

This first session was focused on helping her get comfortable with the bucket, choosing to put her head inside, and beginning to build that strong reinforcement history.

First, we build the behavior. Then, we can start using it.
