⚠️ Black Fly Bite Alert! ⚠️

Have you noticed small, red, itchy spots on your dogs skin that look like they could be tick bites? These could be black fly bites. 🪰

📸 The photo shows typical target lesions commonly found on the abdomen. Unlike tick bites, black fly bites commonly appear in multiple spots at once.

If your pet is itchy and you see unusual lesions, don’t wait—come in to have them checked. Early evaluation can help prevent complications and provide relief from itching.

At RVC, we’re proud to have Dr. Pacchiana, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, come in to perform advanced knee surgeries for ligament tears — one of the most common injuries we see in dogs.

These injuries can cause pain, limping, and difficulty getting around, but with surgery and rehabilitation, many dogs are able to get back to living active, pain free lives. 🐾🩺
