CONGRATULATIONS (belatedly) to our most recent TSIR alumni! 🎉 Here are some post-adoption updates (in order of photos):

Sasha (now Callie)'s mom shared: "All is going good with Callie! She loves her training and is really improving....Our dog River really seems to love her company." 🐶

Stella (now Brynlee)'s Dad shared: "Brynlee is feeling at home. She was climbing our fence...so I placed three-foot extensions with mesh! We brought her to our vet last week and she was deemed healthy...She's certainly full of energy and a cuddly girl!" 🐶

Mouse's mom shared: "She's as happy as can be, and we have upcoming mountain trip planned for the 4th. She'll have a blast!" 🐶

Slinky the cat's Dad shared that he adjusted to his new digs and loves to play fetch! 🐱

Huge thanks to all who adopt and give rescue animals the loving homes they deserve - these furever homes are what keep us going when the rescue world feels so very difficult. Wishing all our adoptees the happiest of tails and trails! 🎉

The Snuggle is Real has recently extended its reach across the Atlantic, and we are preparing to welcome 2-3 kitties from our rescue friends in Kuwait.

These precious rescuees were orignally Denver-bound in March, but due to travel restrictions amidst the current conflict, their journey was postponed. For two months, the cats' lives hung in limbo while their human friends waited with bated breath for the airspace to re-open. Happily, their flight has been re-booked for June!

As you can imagine, the costs associated with this rescue mission are significant, and our Kuwaiti feline advocates are requesting assistance from the rescue community.

Recently, several of our longtime core fosters moved out of state, leaving a huge gap as we continue to receive requests for animals in need. Right now, fostering is more important than ever.

Fosters are truly the backbone of rescue. By opening your home temporarily, you give animals a safe place to decompress, heal, learn trust, and prepare for their forever families. Every foster home saves lives — not just the dog or cat you host, but also an animal that remains in the shelter, because more space becomes available!

Sweet Fella is seeking a foster or adopter ❤️

Fella is an absolute snugglebug who adores every human she meets. She is housetrained, crate-trained, and fully vetted! She has an adorable little snore and is an enthusiastic player. 🧸

Fella has enjoyed spending time with dogs in the past, and she has not had an opportunity to meet any cats yet. 🐶

Fella has an unusual fear of being leashed and sometimes panics in situations involving leashes. She tends to flail and do her very best to wiggle out of her harness or collar. Her leash-related stress has resulted in some leash reactivity toward other dogs as well, making it tricky to facilitate safe doggy meet-and-greets. For this reason, Fella will do best as the only dog in the home or with an adopter comfortable facilitating a very slow, scaffolded introduction to any resident dogs.

We are committed to setting Fella up for success, and TSIR will cover individualized, in-home training to support her leash skills. Please message us with questions or to arrange a meet-up! 💗

Mouse is looking for her furever home🐭🏡 Contact us to adopt!

Meet Mouse:
Hi everyone! I'm Mouse! My human friends describe me as a SUPER lovebug. ❤️ I'm a 5-year-old bully-breed mix with so many snuggles to offer. My favorite things are people and attention - if you've ever wondered what 35 pounds of velcro feels like, meet me to find out! I also love squeaky toys, and I'm friendly with children and cats!👪😺 I don't hate other dogs, but I'm sometimes a little grouchy with them. What can I say, I like to have my family's full attention! I would be best in a single-dog household or with a human who has experience in supporting dog-dog interactions while we adjust to each other.

I have a bit of a bother with my pancreas. My human friends say I have "Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency," whatever that is. But don't worry, I don't let it slow me down! I just need a prescription diet and some medicine powder added to my food. I still enjoy hikes, car rides, and long walks outdoors!🏞

Hey, TSIR friends! Here's a quick recap on what we've been pup to lately! 🐕

As you may know, foster-based, volunteer-based organizations like ours face a continuous uphill battle to procure sufficient labor, funds, and foster homes to stay afloat. Our organization has found that balance particularly hard lately, as some of our key volunteers and fosters moved out of state in 2024.

But not to worry - we've stayed flexible to continue saving lives! In addition to running our foster program, we often network for animals in danger and facilitate their transfer to larger, No- and Low-kill organizations on the front range.

Here's how it works: First, we learn of animals in SOS situations. 🆘️ Next, we get busy seeking placements for these furkids among our rescue partners. 🔍We then cover the cost of their pre-transport, out-of-state vetting. 💉Lastly, our volunteer transport drivers help deliver them safely to these fabulous organizations! 🚗💗
