for the dog who thinks nobody except them and their human should ever dare exist in THEIR neighborhood that they own obviously šŸ˜œ

thereā€™s a lot of moving parts to addressing this behavior, one of those is to some extent, accepting that theyā€™re dogs. and dogs bark. but, if our dogs are reaching high stress levels regularly because of sounds & seeing people/dogs pass by- thatā€™s when itā€™s time to help them so they can feel relaxed at home!

as with any training video i make, thereā€™s so many more parts of training this that i canā€™t include in 3 minutes. but this is a great starter video to show ways you can begin working on this. drop your questions in the comments

azula has never ā€œstruggledā€ passing people or dogs per se, and she doesnā€™t even really put much energy into pulling towards them, but occasionally she wants to sniff in their direction and struggles to listen to cues when people/other dogs are passing, because she wants to say hi or sheā€™s just curious.

it sometimes becomes an issue when she stands in the middle of the small train and doesnā€™t want to move out of peopleā€™s way, so instead of yanking her around every walk, iā€™m working on replacing her less desirable behavior with a more desirable behavior. makes it easier for both her and me, and other people trying to enjoy what azula would say is HER trail. šŸ™ƒ

in honor of harveyā€™s 9th gotcha day coming up (meaning heā€™s about 10). hitting double digits while battling cancer for 2 years is something worth celebrating. šŸ¤Ž

ACL weekend is my favorite and most exhausting weekend of the year and with peace and love iā€™m so glad it is only once a year !!!

i always prioritize getting my dogs needs met first thing, before i head out for the afternoon. i also usually donā€™t head into the festival until later in the afternoon to minimize their time home alone. and almost always have a friend stop by in the evening to let them out and hangout with them. but they do amazing and usually enjoy a lazy afternoon of snoozing!

azulas has been getting some bumps on her paws, i thought it was just blisters from being active/playing, but turns out sheā€™s having her first ever lil allergy flare up šŸ’”

working on addressing her allergies is coming with a new training opportunity for us. iā€™ve never had a dog with allergies so i have a lot to learn, and hereā€™s hoping that it doesnā€™t get worse than this!! šŸ¤ž

this girl really really stole my heart. šŸ¤Ž

Babushka is 1.5 and has spent a majority of her life at the shelter. but that doesnā€™t stop her from being the sweetest dog. friendly, playful, adventurous. the only reason the shelter gave for a theory as to why she hasnā€™t been adopted is because sheā€™s higher energy, and she has a somewhat higher prey drive.

sheā€™s the perfect age, the perfect size, and has so much love to give. she is going to make the perfect dog for someone!

my mission is life is to portray dogs how they should be: happy, resilient as hell, goofy, and social.
