Walkstar-in-progress Rocky is lounging after an excellent session in his busy neighborhood. He is SO smart and a bit of a sensitive puppy when it comes to seeing other dogs so his walks are often stressful and overwhelming. His awesome parents are practicing with him every day and he is making GREAT strides and loves learning all kinds of alternatives to reacting to neighbor doggos. Last session he learned to count (1-2-3-treat!!) and he picked it up so fast! We are so proud of the whole family and can't wait for our next session with them!

Our babe Biski is feeling great and officially back to her old antics (except no more corn or counter theft allowed ๐Ÿšซ๐ŸŒฝ). We also selected a winner of the fundraiser raffle through a random number generator, and we're thrilled to announce that our friend Sheryl Rieck and her new rescue pup Penny are the winners of the Field Trip package! We owe a huge amounts of thanks to everyone who contributed and we wish there was enough time in the day to give every pup customized, educational field trips, but we want to make sure you know HOW grateful we are and how much your donations made a huge difference for the surgery costs and recovery period. Also, Biski is thrilled with all of the Amazon donations she got! We received several pairs of pajamas to use as recovery suits, but she was a great patient and didn't lick at her incision at all! Don't worry, you'll get to see the PJs in action once we hit winter temps. She wants you to know that the toys are great and she is already expecting more ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคช Thank you again for all your support, it meant so much to us to have our community rally behind us during a scary and stressful event like this. Our own pup, Biski, had emergency surgery on Tuesday to remove pieces of corn cob that were lodged in her small intestine. She swiped the corn from the kitchen on Saturday, and Tuesday morning she was vomiting repeatly, lethargic, drooling profusely, and refusing breakfast (I knew something was very wrong when she said "no thanks" to food, very un-Biski-like). After an xray at our regular vet and an ultrasound at the specialist, it was determined she needed to have the corn cobs surgically removed since they were not going to pass on their own. The procedure went very well according to the surgeon, she stayed overnight and may need to stay longer, until she is able to keep food down and her appetite comes back. Though I have pet insurance for her, it does not cover all of the costs and will take several months to process before we get any kind of reimbursement. So far, the upfront costs of treatment and medication are at least $6,000.

To raise funds to support us through this recovery, I'm offering a raffle for a Learning Field Trip package in Austin - the winner will get 5 trainer walks/field trips that include individual attention and personalized experiences for your dog(s), and a follow up training plan - over $300 in services! Each entry to the raffle is $20. To enter, send funds to @ Duhlorian on Venmo and include the word "raffle" and your phone number (you can set it to private so others don't see your contact info). You can enter and donate the package to someone else if you win, or you can just send a donation without entering the raffle, just say so in the comment! DM me if you have any other questions about it!

If you'd like to support us a different way, there is an Amazon wishlist to help with Biski's post-op care and management. Link is in bio.

I'll keep everyone updated on recovery progress on Biski's IG page

Our student Katie is an Austin Bulldog Rescue alumni and we get SO excited every time we visit because she's truly the most joyous, resilient, and magical creature. She's a fast learner too and is figuring out it's way better to watch other dogs calmly than it is to flip her lid - even though she's impossibly cute in all her forms! She's already graduating to walking with a helper dog for our next visit! We know she's got this! Go Katie!

Callie loves the field trips we've been taking while mom is at work! Her anxiety around seeing other dogs gets better with each trip, and her distance threshold (how far away she can be from other dogs while keeping her cool) is also improving rapidly! Even senior pups like 8 year old Callie can learn new tricks and skills for navigating the world with ease! Let us know if you could use some help helping your own pup! Email us at [email protected] or check out our website!

Adoption alert!! - We're helping a client rehome their awesome cat and we thought someone out there might be her future family! Lucy the cat is 5 years old, healthy, friendly and has lived with dogs most of her life! She currently lives with 2 rowdy dogs that are a bit too rough with her, so she's looking for more respectful roommates. Lucy can live with kids, adults, cat-friendly dogs, and possibly cats though she's never met other kitties so we're recommending slow/managed intros to make sure everyone is cool with each other. Her favorite activities are naps, wrestling, snack time, fetch, and window watching! Please reach out if you have any questions, and please help share the word! You can comment here, message us directly, or email at [email protected]

Our friend and School Of Walk student Manchego has found himself back at the shelter and we want to get him straight into a home as soon as possible! Chego is a sensitive dude with the cutest tiny ears who LOVES routine and toys and learning tricks and honestly prefers being a homebody rather than adventuring around - a perfect companion during a pandemic! If you or anyone you know is in the market for a hilarious, affectionate, quirky, cuddle-buddy for winter, Chego has you covered. Please share so he can find his future foster or adopter!

Manchego wants so badly to be the best boy he can be. Heโ€™s easy to teach, heโ€™s housetrained, crate trained, he knows a bunch of commands. He is a huge lovebug who likes to stay close to his people and cuddle often. His perfect day includes peanut butter, a dip in the pool and some hugs. Heโ€™s such a good boy, but sometimes he gets nervous. After a rough experience with another dog coming after him, Manchego wants to be the only dog in the home. On walks, passing joggers, scooters and strollers can make him anxious. Manchego is searching for a low traffic, adult only home with a fenced yard. Manchegoโ€™s fosters or adopters will get a training voucher to help set him up for success. After a year in the shelter, weโ€™re eager to see this sweet boy start a new chapter in his life. Please share his post to help Manchego (A807568) find his happily ever after! โค๏ธ
