Our own pup, Biski, had emergency surgery on Tuesday to remove pieces of corn cob that were lodged in her small intestine. She swiped the corn from the kitchen on Saturday, and Tuesday morning she was vomiting repeatly, lethargic, drooling profusely, and refusing breakfast (I knew something was very wrong when she said "no thanks" to food, very un-Biski-like). After an xray at our regular vet and an ultrasound at the specialist, it was determined she needed to have the corn cobs surgically removed since they were not going to pass on their own. The procedure went very well according to the surgeon, she stayed overnight and may need to stay longer, until she is able to keep food down and her appetite comes back. Though I have pet insurance for her, it does not cover all of the costs and will take several months to process before we get any kind of reimbursement. So far, the upfront costs of treatment and medication are at least $6,000.
To raise funds to support us through this recovery, I'm offering a raffle for a Learning Field Trip package in Austin - the winner will get 5 trainer walks/field trips that include individual attention and personalized experiences for your dog(s), and a follow up training plan - over $300 in services! Each entry to the raffle is $20. To enter, send funds to @ Duhlorian on Venmo and include the word "raffle" and your phone number (you can set it to private so others don't see your contact info). You can enter and donate the package to someone else if you win, or you can just send a donation without entering the raffle, just say so in the comment! DM me if you have any other questions about it!
If you'd like to support us a different way, there is an Amazon wishlist to help with Biski's post-op care and management. Link is in bio.
I'll keep everyone updated on recovery progress on Biski's IG page
