Oscar came into our lives on Christmas Eve 2020 after being at the shelter for a month. The Shelter Staff took amazing care of him before coming to us.

The purpose of this page is to highlight adopting shelter animals and showcasing those available.

We're so excited to share that our next renovation step is starting soon! Thanks so much to everyone who has helped our sweet pups find loving homes. Right now, our wonderful Wyatt is still searching for his forever family. Wyatt is always down for a good time. Yes, he might be large, but he is very well-mannered and walks exceptionally well on a leash. He knows his name and always comes running when you call. Prior to going on his morning walk everyday, Wyatt meticulously selects a toy from the bin to carry with him for his adventure. His favorite? Any type of ball. However, he does not discriminate and says all toys are worthy of being played with. Won't you come meet him today?

Our staff was surprised to see this sweet pup upon their arrival to the shelter this morning.

Every year, pets are left outside animal shelter doors by owners who feel they have run out of options. If you are struggling, please reach out to us directly before making that choice—we are here to help, not to judge.

How We Can Help Before You Reach a Breaking Point
🐾Temporary Resource Assistance: We can connect you with pet food pantries, emergency supply programs, and low-cost veterinary care options to ease immediate financial strain.

🐾Behavioral & Training Support: If behavioral issues are making home life difficult, we can offer guidance, training resources, or advice to work through the challenge.

🐾Managed Rehoming Programs: Surrendering or rehoming directly through a shelter program allows us to gather your dog's medical history, dietary preferences, and temperament traits. This makes finding the right forever home much faster and safer.

🐾Safe Intake & Scheduling: If surrendering is truly the only option, a scheduled surrender ensures we have an open kennel, dedicated staff, and proper medical intake ready for your dog.

🐾 August Adoption Update!🐾

August was another month filled with happy endings, and we couldn't be more grateful!

😺 26 cats found their forever homes -- including long-time resident Maui, pictured third row, far right. She spent a total of 85 days in shelter.
🐶 19 dogs found their forever families
🐓 11 chickens found new coops to call home
🦆 2 ducks found their happy place

That's 58 animals who left our shelter and started the next chapter of their lives!

Every adoption represents a second chance, a new beginning, and a family opening their hearts and homes. We're incredibly thankful to everyone who adopted, shared our posts, volunteered, donated, or simply cheered these animals on.

Thank you for helping us make more happy endings possible! ❤️

Exciting news for Stocksdale Dog Park visitors! 🐾

As we continue to roll through our 2026 planned Park updates, TOMORROW the parking lot by the Dog Park will be repaved!

The Dog Park will remain open during the repave process, which will start around 7 a.m. You can still bring your furry friends by to play, but just be aware that crews will be working in the parking area in front of the gates.

We are thrilled to finally check this much-needed project off our list as we continue improvements throughout our Liberty Parks & Rec facilities! Thank you so much for your patience as we make these upgrades better for all humans and pups! 🐶❤️
