The Great Simba Adventure has officially come to an end!

Simba is a 9 1/2-year-old kitty who went missing from his family way back in late March. For his owner, those months without him were heartbreaking. She had no idea where her beloved boy was or if she would ever see him again.

Fast forward to THIS WEEK when the Liberty Animal Shelter called with some incredible news… They found Simba!

And how did they know exactly who this wandering little adventurer belonged to? SIMBA WAS MICROCHIPPED!

Apparently, Simba has been out there living his best nine lives. He picked up a few battle wounds along the way, lost a little weight, and clearly decided that coming home after a nearly six-month vacation was a reasonable thing to do. But despite his adventures, he is overall still a pretty healthy boy.

We’re treating his wounds, getting him feeling his best, and we absolutely cannot wait for the moment he gets to reunite with his family.

This is exactly why microchipping your pets is so incredibly important. Collars can fall off, tags can get lost, and our pets can wander much farther than we ever imagine. But a microchip can be the tiny piece of technology that makes an impossible reunion possible.

Simba’s story is a beautiful reminder that sometimes, even after months of heartbreak, happy endings really do happen.

Welcome home, Simba. We have a feeling your family has been waiting a VERY long time to hear you yell at them again.

This is a wonderful organization that Dr. Al, Dr. Glenn and her husband volunteers with and is near and dear to their hearts! Please share this with all your teacher family and friends.

Last year Be The Change Volunteers Teacher's Toolbox provided over $20,000 worth of grants for special classroom projects. A total of 23 grants worth up to $1000 each were presented to teachers to help fund special projects for their students. It’s National Dog Day!

Today, we’re celebrating all the loyal, lovable, goofy, and tail-wagging pups who make our lives a little brighter.

Dr. Glenn recommended a surgical suit for Stella for her surgery today. Stella’s mom thought, “Well… if she has to wear a suit, then EVERYONE is wearing a suit.”

Betty, Millie, and Mable have officially joined Stella’s post-surgery fashion team. They’ve got (almost) matching suits, and honestly, they look like the cutest little medical squad ever. 🐾

Stella may have had surgery, but nobody said she had to recover without a full support team and a coordinated wardrobe.

At Veterinary Center of Liberty, we’re especially proud to celebrate this achievement. Over the years, the majority of our Registered Veterinary Technicians have graduated from the Maple Woods Veterinary Technology Program, and we are fortunate to have many current students work alongside our team as they complete the program. Their knowledge, compassion, and commitment to veterinary medicine have made a lasting impact on our practice and our patients.
