Judy's Forgotten Jewells We rescue animals in danger of euthanasia and place them into forever loving homes. We are based out of Jewell Animal Hospital, and founded by Patricia L.

Judy’s Forgotten Jewells became a licensed Non-Profit Animal Rescue Group in the summer of 2009! Smith, DVM. The name Judy’s Forgotten Jewells is in honor of Dr. Smith’s mother’s childhood dog “Judy Dog” and Jewell Animal Hospital. Since starting rescue work in 2006 Judy’s Forgotten Jewells has placed over 500 Dogs, Cats, Puppies, & Kittens in forever loving homes! Most of our animals come from sh

elters where they were at risk of being euthanized! We are run solely on volunteers and clinic staff! Our adoption fee helps cover a fraction of the cost to spay/neuter, vaccinate, microchip implantation & activation, medical treatment, and any food used to feed the animal! We are a NO KILL rescue, so once an animal is adopted that opens up a space for us to bring in a new at risk animal! We are very passionate about our rescues and strongly encourage all pet owners to spay or neuter their pets to help end the cycle of pet overpopulation!

Bee is now looking for her forever home — and yes, she has a sister named Honey! 🍯🐾

Bee is a quieter little girl who is still learning about the world around her. She can be a bit shy at first, but with patience and love, her sweet personality continues to shine through more every day.

She and Honey enjoy having each other around and often stick close together, but they do NOT need to go home together. Bee would do well either adopted with her sister or finding a loving home of her very own. ❤️

Meet Honey 🍯🐾

Honey is officially up for adoption — and she even has a sister that we have named Bee! 🐝❤️

These girls are on the quieter side for the most part and are still learning that the world is not such a scary place. They are sweet kittens who are continuing to come out of their shells more and more every day.

Honey and Bee do enjoy being together, of course, but they will also do just fine if separated into different homes. We know the perfect families are out there waiting for them! 🐱

Judy’s Forgotten Jewells will be closed today, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. ❤️🤍💙

Jewellie and her son, Sunstone, are STILL looking for their forever homes! 🧡🐾

All of Sunstone’s brothers and sisters have officially been adopted, which leaves him as the very last kitten of the litter still hanging out with his Momma. But honestly… every boy loves their momma! 😂❤️

Sunstone is enjoying the extra time with Jewellie while they wait for the perfect families to find them. They are both sweet, lovable cats with personalities of their own and would make wonderful additions to a home.

This tiny girl may look like a kitten… but we’re pretty sure she’s actually part bobcat! 😂 Between her BIG personality, nonstop playing, and constant little meows, Josephine keeps us entertained all day long.

Josephine is an incredibly playful and vocal kitten who loves attention and is always ready for her next adventure. She is now looking for her forever home! ❤️

🎉 Pumpernickel has been adopted! 🎉

Sweet Pumpernickel is officially with her forever family, and we are so happy to report that she has been doing AMAZING in her new home! 🖤🐾

Since Pumpernickel had never truly lived in a home environment before and spent her whole life in shelter care, we always wonder how that adjustment period will go. Hearing how quickly she settled in, learned home life, and became comfortable with her family means the world to us.

Stories like hers give us so much hope for our longer-term residents, especially Ollie and Kai. Every animal deserves a family and a couch to call their own, and Pumpernickel is proof that even animals who have spent most of their lives in shelter care can thrive in a loving home. 🏡

Congratulations, Pumpernickel — we will miss you so much, but this is exactly the happy ending we dreamed of for you. 💕

✨ FOREVER HOME FOUND ✨

Ash has officially found his forever family! 🖤

This loving boy is going to be the center of attention exactly where he belongs. From his striking, fluffy black coat to his sweet personality, Ash had a way of making everyone fall in love with him. Watching him leave with his new family was bittersweet — we are beyond happy for him, but we will definitely miss seeing his handsome face every day.

Thank you to his adopter for giving Ash the loving home he deserves. 🏡🐾

🐾 Flea & Tick Season? Actually… It’s ALL Year Long! 🐾

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is:
“It’s cold outside, so my pet doesn’t need flea and tick prevention.”

Unfortunately, fleas and ticks don’t disappear in winter! ❄️

Fleas can survive indoors in carpets, furniture, bedding, and heated homes, while many tick species stay active anytime temperatures are above 40°F.

Some fun (and slightly gross 😅) facts:

🦟 Fleas can jump up to 150 times their body length
🦟 95% of the flea life cycle lives in the environment — NOT on your pet
🦟 One female flea can lay thousands of eggs
🦟 It can take about 3 months (or longer!) to fully eliminate fleas from a home because eggs and larvae continue hatching over time
🦟 No yard is truly “safe” — wildlife, rodents, stray animals, and neighborhood pets can carry fleas and ticks through your yard every day

Even indoor-only pets can get fleas and ticks brought in from outside.

Fleas and ticks can also spread diseases like:
⚠️ Lyme disease
⚠️ Tapeworms
⚠️ Bartonella
⚠️ Anaplasmosis

The BEST way to protect your pets is consistent, year-round prevention. ❤️

There are many options available now, including:
✔️ Monthly preventatives
✔️ 3-month chewables like Bravecto
✔️ Combination heartworm/flea/tick prevention such as NexGard Plus
✔️ New long-lasting injectable options for dogs like Bravecto Quantum

🎉🐾 RIO IS ADOPTED! 🐾🎉

After 109 days back in rescue, Rio has officially found his forever home again. 💛

Rio was originally adopted from us as a puppy, but sadly was returned when his owner’s lifestyle changed. Through it all, Rio had no idea what he did wrong—he was still the same loving, deserving dog he had always been. And as always, when one of our adopters needs help, we take our dogs back. That’s our commitment to them for life. 🐶

Thankfully, Rio was able to go into an amazing foster home while waiting for his second chance. His foster family did an incredible job with him and helped keep him out of the shelter environment for much of his stay back with us. We are so grateful for them and everything they did for this sweet boy. 💕

Now, Rio is finally heading off to his new forever family, and we couldn’t be happier for him. We wish Rio and his new family nothing but happiness, love, and many wonderful years together. 🏡✨

Happy life, Rio—you deserve it. 💛🐾

🐾🌸 Meet Mistwillow! 🌸🐾

Mistwillow is estimated to be about 1 year old and is ready to find a forever home of her own. 💛

She came to us as a mama to 4 kittens, and she absolutely LOVED being their mother. Now that all of her babies have been adopted, Mistwillow has been feeling a little lonely and is ready for her turn to be someone’s baby. 🐱💕

This sweet girl deserves a home where she can finally relax, be loved, and enjoy life outside of motherhood and rescue life. She has done her job raising her kittens—now it’s time for someone to spoil her. 🏡
