Help is needed to save this baby’s life!! 💔 BentTree has already been through so much. Now he’s fighting for his life — and he needs YOU.

This sweet boy was born with a broken heart. He has Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) a congenital heart defect where a blood vessel fails to close after birth, forcing his little heart to struggle every single day just to keep up. He deserves a chance. But that chance is disappearing fast.

We need THREE things urgently:

The Krewe of Barkus and Meoux is proud to offer the Barbara Ann Ruane Scholarship, a $1,500 award supporting students pursuing careers in animal wellness, veterinary medicine, and related fields.

Named in honor of our founder, Barbara Ann Ruane, this scholarship recognizes students who share her passion for animal welfare and dedication to making a difference in the lives of animals. Through this scholarship, we hope to support the next generation of compassionate professionals committed to caring for animals and strengthening our communities.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a day of remembrance, gratitude, and respect for those who gave their lives to protect our freedoms.

As we gather with family, friends, and our beloved pets, let us take a moment to reflect on the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of our fallen heroes and the families who carry their memory forward each day.

Kimbo needs our help let’s ban together and prove we’re a community that believes every life matters. This baby is fighting for her life yes it’s a chance but she’s worth it.

Kimbo update:

Kimbo’s numbers have declined which are expected when it comes to parvo. She is not vomiting but still having diarrhea. Thankfully no blood is in it. She didn’t want to eat anything at all so the decision was made to add a feeding tube bc she desperately needs the nutrients to try and fight this. She is still getting fluids, iv metro and iv cerenia. She is sitting up but not wagging her tail. She is fighting and as long as she’s fighting we are going to fight to. We are hoping she doesn’t need a plasma transfusion. We will decide on that on the next 24-48 hours. The estimate I’m about to post is without the plasma so if she needs that it will go up. The low end of the estimate is $2661. We have raised $1772 so far. Please continue to donate….we just can’t give up on her!
