🐾❤️ Being a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is so much more than a job. It's being the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves, the gentle hands that comfort a frightened patient, and the compassionate heart that helps families through some of their hardest moments.

As a hospital manager, I get to see firsthand the dedication, sacrifices, and emotional weight that come with this profession. I see the long days, the little victories, the heartbreak of the losses, and all the things you do behind the scenes that often go unnoticed. I see the compassion you continue to give, even on the days when you feel like you have nothing left to give yourselves.

This profession isn't always easy. You won't save every patient, and you won't always get the outcome you hoped for. But please never measure your worth by the lives you couldn't save. Measure it by the comfort you provided, the suffering you eased, the families you supported, and the love you gave when it mattered most.

Sometimes, we save a life. Sometimes, we ease suffering. And sometimes, simply being there is the greatest gift we can give.

To my technicians and assistants, thank you for showing up, advocating for your patients, supporting one another, and putting so much heart into what you do. Your work matters more than you know, and I hope you never forget that you are just as deserving of the compassion you give so freely to others.

I am proud to stand alongside you, and I am grateful for everything you bring to our hospital. You are seen, you are valued, and you make a difference every single day.

Happy Veterinary Technician Week to my incredible team! You are the heartbeat of veterinary medicine. Never forget it. ❤️🐾

Today we had the CUTEST visitor! 🦔💗 Everyone, meet Aaron, the hedgehog! Our entire team was so excited to meet this sweet little bundle of quills, and for most of our staff, this was their very first time seeing a hedgehog in person! Needless to say, Aaron was quite the celebrity around here. 🥰

Aaron’s owner noticed some spots on his little tummy and wanted to make sure everything was okay. With the help of a Wood’s lamp, Dr. Grant was able to rule out ringworm—phew! Thank goodness for that! 🔦🦔

It looks like sweet Aaron simply had a few battle wounds from the other hedgehogs he was previously housed with. With some antibiotics and a little TLC, he should be well on his way to healing in no time! ❤️‍🩹

Hedgehogs may be tiny, but they can be surprisingly tough little critters! And just like our dogs and cats, they can develop skin issues and injuries that are worth having checked out by a veterinarian. 🩺

Aaron is now living his best life as the only hedgehog in the house, where he gets to brighten his family’s day all by himself—and today, he definitely brightened ours! 🥹💕

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to meet this sweet little guy and see his adorable face! We’re pretty sure Aaron has officially stolen a few hearts at Towne South. 🦔

World Animal Day reminds us that kindness and responsible care extend beyond our own pets. Respecting wildlife, providing appropriate care for domestic animals, and protecting the environments animals depend on are ways to show our respect.
