I know we are usually all dogs here BUT i'd like to appeal to my friends/family to consider donating or fostering for Buffalo Guinea Pig Mafia Rescue who needs help with 150 guinea pigs needing help.

🚨Utica case update! 🚨
We just spoke to the owner of the guinea pigs. There are 150. She is moving at the end of the week and needs them all gone. She would orefer today, but we explained to her that will probably not happen as this is a large scale rescue.
If you are willing to help transport some of them even from Utica to Rochester, please let us know.
If anyone would like to help contribute to the rescue effort, we would deeply appreciate it. We are a small rescue run 100% by volunteers and EVERY donation counts.
If you prefer to donate supplies, we will post a list of needed items later today.

FYI Communication Concerns:
I wanted to take a minute to talk about the FRIGGIN INSANE SPAM CALL VOLUME we get on our phones now. Yes we are on the "do not call" list, it doesn't matter. I spent a day writing each call into FCC website a month back, blocking...you name it.

Anyway, the reason I am saying this is to say, we are not actively trying to miss your calls/messages. I sometimes get 1 person who sends me a VM, text, email, FB message all within 10 min of each other. That with the above spam, clogs up the system and can get frustrating. It is most helpful to only send 1 message and allow me 24hrs to respond before reaching back out if it is urgent. If non urgent I will "triage" my responses in order of urgency and sometimes some fall through the cracks on accident. It certainly isn't my intention to ignore potential business...

So please do not feel bad about reaching back out to say "yo don't forget about me" but also please be patient when its something that can wait a day or two for me to reply to...there is so much flooding of contacts with social media it makes my head explode (which could literally happen now hahaaaa haaaa, sorry dark humor).

ONE HUGE FAVOR I ASK: If you are contacting me about Paws related stuff, please use paws related contact info, and not my personal info--to avoid me losing/forgetting where it was sent.

Medical Update:
I met with the neurosurgeon Monday, but it took a few days to work out the schedule.
June 23rd & 24th we will be CLOSED for my procedure.
They will be inserting a flow-diverter stent in my carotid artery. It redirects blood flow away from the aneurysm, allowing the weakened artery wall to heal while triggering the aneurysm to shrink and dissolve. Because of this, I will need to be on blood thinners 1wk prior to surgery and 3-6m after. The surgeon did show some slight concern over the daycare activities and the risk of bleeding so I may have to make some adjustments to the groups once Lilly leaves for college in August. We may have to reduce or remove a few dogs until I am off them. I will also have the help of Emma to fill in which will be a huge help to me.

The biggest issue now is to keep my blood pressure down until surgery!
