These pretty babies have been adjusting nicely to their new home here at the rescue and are eating up all the attention they can get from our volunteers! (Even Snow, who has been a little shy and unsure, has been taking treats now!) We’re hoping to get some friends to become monthly sponsors to help with their day-to-day care and needs. Would anyone be able to join Friends of Snow, Friends of Willow, or Friends of Gidget and give at least $20 a month to help them find their forever homes? We can’t do it without our village! Fosterers are so important to our mission and are essential with placing horses that are difficult to place due to age, physical limitations. Or even emotional challenges. Thank you Kathy for fostering Percy. While we ask fosterers to commit for a certain time, we know in this case that it simply may be a short time or could lead to longer term.
We are happy that Percy will experience life at a small barn with just 1-2 other horsey friends and get tons of time with Kathy. We love our fosterers and will be highlighting some of them at our annual Gala next month. They are so important, and we are ever so grateful for them. 💖💖💖

New Intakes:

We had three new intakes today. Help us welcome Willow, Snow, and Gidget. These lovely mares our owner surrenders. Their owner care for them in the way that they need.

Willow is the bay mare who is approximately 7 years old. Not registered but could be registered. She has not been handled much so we will be treating her as a clean slate. We believe that Gidget is her Dam.

Gidget is in her early to mid 20s. She had professional training when young and up until 10 years ago she was the owners riding horse. The owner was unable to continue to ride her. She is registered, but owner could not remember her registered name and still needs to track down papers.

Snow is 30 years old, possibly older. She is shy and standoffish until she learns to trust. She is said to be registered, but like Gidget, registered name could not be recalled.

If someone has datasource and wants to search horses under the owner name, please message us.

We will be working to secure papers.

Snow will be placed as a companion horse or in long term foster. If you have room for a gorgeous older beauty, message us.

All three of these horses are in need of Dentles, vaccinations, and Farrier care. Snow needs to put on some weight.

We have been in contact with the three private buyers of the Arabian Horses that sold Saturday at auction.

There were early rumors that a feedlot owner ended up with a couple. For anyone that was worried, does not have to be. They all went private. We raised just under $3000, and have allocated a small portion to assist the buyers with medical cost. We made good on that this morning with the black mare.

The remaining donated funds will roll into the next auction.

The photos of the horses were sent to us by the new owners.
