This little guy's tail says it all — and science backs him up.

Owning a dog isn't just fun; it's genuinely good for you. Studies show dog owners have a 24% lower risk of dying from any cause, and dog owners who've had a heart attack or stroke see even bigger benefits — up to a 65% reduced risk of death. Dogs also get us moving more, ease stress, and fight loneliness — basically a built-in reason to get outside and smile every day.

Here's the hard part: right now, an estimated 500,000 dogs and cats are waiting in shelters across the country for a home just like yours. Every wagging tail like this one deserves a family.

So if you've been thinking about it... maybe today's the day. Consider adding a new member to your family — your heart (literally) might thank you for it. ❤️

Tiny legs, big personality—and a healthy future starts early. 🐾

This adorable dachshund puppy has the long back and short-legged build we all love. That same body shape, though, can make dachshunds more vulnerable to intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) as they grow.

One of the most important ways to help reduce modifiable risk is keeping your dachshund at a lean, healthy body condition. Extra weight puts additional stress on the spine and joints, while a balanced diet and appropriate portions help support steady growth, comfortable movement, and lifelong mobility.

At your pet’s visit, we can help with:

Choosing an appropriate puppy or adult diet

Calculating daily calorie needs and portions

Treat and table-food strategies that still let them enjoy life

Tracking body condition and growth over time

Creating a safe weight-management plan if needed

There is no one-size-fits-all food or feeding amount—especially for a growing puppy. Let’s help your little low-rider stay healthy, active, and ready for all of life’s adventures. 💛

At Allure, we go beyond traditional care — because pets are family! And sometimes family means more than one!

Did you know that roughly one-third of American households have more than one pet, and about 22% of dog owners have two dogs, with another 4% having three or more?

Whether it's two dogs on a bench or a whole houseful, multi-pet families just mean more love, more personalities, and yes, more vet visits to keep track of. That's exactly where we come in — Allure's here to help you juggle it all, one wagging tail at a time.

Call us to get your pets current on vaccinations (or titers) and heartworm prevention!

One brown eye, one blue eye — and no, it's not a mix-up 👀

This gorgeous grin comes with a bonus: heterochromia, one brown eye and one blue eye. It's a genetic trait especially common in huskies, caused by how melanin (pigment) is distributed in the iris, and it's totally harmless — doesn't affect their vision one bit.

Here's the fun fact though: while this kind of "born with it" heterochromia is nothing to worry about, if your dog's eye color ever suddenly changes later in life, that's actually worth a vet visit — it can be a sign of injury, inflammation, or other eye issues. That's why we always take a good look at those baby blues (and browns) during routine exams.

Eyes tell us a lot more than people realize — so if anything ever looks off, don't wait to get it checked. 💙🤎

Some days just aren't fair, and Bruno had one of those days.

He came to us after being attacked by another dog — in pain, scared, clearly having the worst afternoon of his life. And through all of it, he never once tried to snap or bite. Just let us do our job, trusting us the whole way through. Dogs really are something else.

We supported him through the initial trauma, because that's exactly what we're here for. Bad things happen sometimes — accidents, attacks, the stuff you never see coming — and when they do, we just want you to know Allure's got you. We'll take care of the scary part so you can get your best friend back home where he belongs.

Rest up, Bruno. You're a good boy through and through. 💛

Meet Beans — 7 weeks old, sassy, and NOT a fan of visitors 👀

This little one came in constipated (yep, even kittens this tiny can get backed up — dehydration, diet changes, or just being new to the world can do it). She was an absolute sweetheart with our team, but the second anyone walked past her cage, she'd give us this look. Full judgment, zero regrets.

We got her feeling better with some fluids and gentle care, and she's back to her spunky little self.

Whether it's a 7-week-old kitten, a senior dog, or anything in between — Allure is here for every age and every kind of "something's just not right." If your pet isn't acting like themselves, don't wait it out. We'd rather see you and be wrong than have you wonder. 💛

Summer's got its own list of dangers, and Rufus found one of them the hard way 🐝

This sweet old guy got stung by a wasp, and his person brought him straight to Urgent Care — swollen, uncomfortable, and clearly having a rough day. We got him some meds to bring the swelling down and calm his system, and he was back home resting on the couch by that evening. No overnight stay needed, just a little TLC.

Most stings are just a "yelp and move on" kind of thing. But if you ever see your pet's face swelling up, breathing weird, throwing up, or acting really out of it after a sting, don't wait it out — get them checked because animals can have severe allergic reactions, just like people. Better safe than sorry.

Feel better soon, Rufus 🐾

Everyone assumes it's the puppies who get into trouble — but this sweet girl proved that idea wrong.

She came in a little shy, a little nervous (you can see it in her eyes), because her people suspected she'd swallowed something she shouldn't have. Turns out, older dogs get into things too — sometimes even more than we'd expect!

Foreign bodies are one of those things we take seriously at Allure, because they can turn into a real emergency fast. The good news is we're set up to handle it here — we do emergency surgery when a foreign object needs to come out, and in some cases we can even use our endoscope to retrieve it without ever having to open up the abdomen. It really just depends on what it is and where it's sitting.

She did great, and we're so glad her people brought her in when they did. If your pet — young or old — starts acting off after getting into something they shouldn't have, don't wait it out. 🐾

Luna is showing us just how well pets can accept chiropractic care. 🐾

Chiropractic adjustments can be a gentle, helpful part of a pet’s treatment plan for mobility concerns, musculoskeletal discomfort, stiffness, and certain pain-related conditions. Sometimes there just isn’t a pill for what’s causing the problem—and restoring comfortable movement can make a real difference.

Every pet is different, so we tailor care to their individual needs. Luna certainly made it look easy! 🖤
