Winnie tore her CCL and, unfortunately, was not a candidate for surgery. So we took a different approach: conservative management — and she and her owner have been putting in work.

Over the past couple of months, Winnie has been building strength, improving stability, and learning how to move better with her injury.

Conservative management isn’t simply “waiting and hoping it gets better.” It takes the right plan, consistency, patience, and a whole lot of work from both the patient and their person.

T. Rex & Dega are on the road to recovery!

Both T. Rex and Dega recently had TPLO surgery at Bedrock in Cornelius, and their surgeries went great! Bedrock Veterinary Specialists They both came to see us at TotalFit for their 1-week post-op check, and we’re so happy with how they’re doing.

Now the real work begins! 💪 We’re already working on their recovery with massage, gentle range-of-motion (ROM) exercises of the knee, and other early rehabilitation techniques to support healing, maintain mobility, and help them safely rebuild strength.

Sending all the healing vibes to T. Rex and Dega! ❤️ We can’t wait to watch these two get stronger every step of the way!

So…what exactly is shockwave therapy?

Shockwave uses focused acoustic energy to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. It can help:

What is an FHO?

An FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) is a surgery where the ball portion of the hip joint is removed to eliminate pain from a severely damaged hip.

Meet Spud, who had bilateral FHO surgery due to severe hip dysplasia. Surgery is just the first step—rehabilitation is an important part of recovery.

After an FHO, rehabilitation helps restore range of motion, rebuild muscle, improve strength and weight-bearing, and encourage a more normal gait.

Spud is putting in the work as he continues his journey toward moving more comfortably and confidently!

A special dedication to Ali and the person who stands beside her every step of the way.

Despite her neurologic challenges and weaker hind limbs, Ali never gives up. And neither does her incredible owner. This cavaletti work took two assistants, a whole lot of encouragement, and one determined girl who kept going. We are helping get her stronger everyday.

Ali, you are an inspiration. And to her owner—thank you for never giving up on her.

Maizie is unstoppable!
