Wrigley is finally back on his feet! He broke four of the bones in his foot this winter. He was such a good boy for his cast changes, the team got to make them a little extra fun! Shout out to Alex, Jess and Dr. Crandall for making it possible.

Which of the bandage changes is your favorite?

📢 doctor spotlight ✨

Meet Dr. Doria Gilberg . Dr. Gilberg grew up in Virginia with her parents and twin sister (she is part of the third generation of twins in her family!). She received her undergraduate degree from Purdue University with a major in animal sciences. She was involved in research in a variety of topics ranging from international food safety to Autism Spectrum Disorder. She returned to Virginia for veterinary school to attend the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to earning her veterinary degree, she also pursued a Masters in Public Health. During vet school she was a foster coordinator for the student-run nonprofit rescue group, and she was also heavily involved in the food animal club.

Dr. Gilberg’s professional interests include internal medicine and cardiology. She looks forward to learning more about minimally-invasive surgery as well as diagnostic imaging such as ultrasonography and echocardiography.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, golfing, and working out. While she had to make the trek back south to escape the wind and snow, she will forever be a Boilermaker at heart. You might catch her around town rocking her Purdue swag or notice her car covered in Purdue stickers. She lives with her sweet “foster fail” kitty named Tucker.

We 💜 Dr. Gilberg!

📢Doctor spotlight✨

Meet Dr. Dixon Holland! Dr. Holland is originally from just up the road in Greensboro and grew his initial love of animals on his grandparent’s farm. He went to Virginia Tech for his undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a minor in Leadership and Social Change, and continued his schooling in Blacksburg for an additional four years and received his DVM degree at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Focusing primarily on small animals with other smaller “pocket pets” mixed in, he spent the first four years of his veterinary career in the mountains of Colorado creating and developing his style of practice, mixed with a bit of hiking and skiing. He and his wife then decided after four years out west it was time to head back east to Charlotte to begin settling down, expand their family, and join the North Mecklenburg team this past fall, 2025. His primary veterinary interests include dentistry and reproductive medicine, but he also prides himself on the relationships he builds with his clients (both human and pet alike).

In his free time, Dr. Holland likes re-exploring the rapidly growing Charlotte area, playing golf, spending time with old friends, and enjoying life with his wife, Emily, and crazy Irish Doodle, Bruce. Sometimes he even gets to see the Hokies or Carolina Panthers play well (if he’s lucky!).

Have you worked with Dr. Holland yet? Tell us why you love him!

We loved seeing everyone for dental month in February. Our friend Asher knows how important dental health is all year long. He was in recently with his bestie, Sarah, and she made sure his smile was sparkling when he left!

Regular dental care is an essential part of your pet’s overall health and well-being. Just like in people, plaque and tartar can build up on a pet’s teeth, leading to dental disease, pain, and infection if left untreated. Poor oral health can also allow bacteria to enter the bloodstream and affect vital organs such as the heart, liver, and kidneys. Routine dental exams, professional cleanings, and at-home dental care help prevent these issues, keeping your pet comfortable, healthy, and able to enjoy a better quality of life.

Call us today to schedule your pets dental assessment and cleaning! (704) 892-0207
