Good morning and happy Sunday! As we wait for the next update on Callie because we moved her oncology appointment to next week.… I thought I would share a video of the litter that was brought into care from the resort… This is what happens when one of the curious group decides there needs to be a way out of the room they’re in 😂 Meet Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Lanai and Kona the escapees!

*** Callie Update ***

Ms Callie has had a busy few weeks! On May 27th she had her surgery and had not only the large mass above her eye removed, but also smaller ones by her ear and chest plus she needed her ears cleared from infection as well. She has been quite a trooper and is taking it all in stride!

Dr. Amir had put in a drain that was also removed last week. We believe she is feeling like a new feline for sure. She is loving the attention that she gets from her foster home and her best friend Ringo.

Unfortunately, the pathology report did show that it’s cancer. Because Dr. Amir feels like he got a lot of it removed we are going to have an oncologist give us his opinion on future care.

We have set up donation boxes at the Big Frank’s Hahn-A-Lula Resort. I am including our poster/Venmo QR code here. Should you be able to send in any amount of a donation towards her care, it will be greatly appreciated.

Next step is the oncology appointment next week so updates will follow!

So tomorrow is the big day for sweet little Callie… She will be having that mass removed from her head.  Please send healing thoughts her way!

She is doing this with so much support from Community Cat Connection plus those who love her from the resort. She even got a visit from Colleen one of the owners who has been taking care of her recently. She also has the support of her BFF, Ringo!

💕 HAPPY HEARTS PROJECT 💕

Sharing a project we have been working on at Big Frank’s Resort, previously the Hahn-a-Lula, in Fremont.

It all started with a phone call about Callie, a 9 year-old calico, who I had helped spay about 8 yrs ago. Her entire life she has been the resident cat (& queen bee) of the resort. Over the past 8-10mo she has developed a growth on her head, which is not looking very well. Community Cat Connection had to help her get to a vet. This was easier said then done… She is much to smart for a trap! So, 10 days later…

We have brought into care; mama Molokai and her 5 Hawaiian kittens along with sweet boy Ringo, who is Callie’s BFF. Once spayed & neutered chances are Molokai & Ringo will return to resort life.

Because of the amazing help of the resort staff/owners, we did get Callie into care yesterday. Today she saw Dr. Amir at the Wellness Clinic and he has agreed to remove the mass on Wednesday! She is on antibiotics and is also getting treatment for some really bad ear infections. 

We need prayers that when the biopsy is taken from Callie’s mass, the pathology report comes back with good news.
