📩 SMEAGOL HAS RSVP’D.

Apparently the guest list was missing something precious. 💍😂

Smeagol has officially confirmed his attendance and will be arriving with approximately 35 pounds of personality and a very strong belief that everyone came specifically to see him.

He’s about 10 months old, sweet, playful, housebroken, kennel trained, and has done some training too. He knows sit and place, although we cannot confirm whether “give us the Precious” was part of the curriculum.

Smeagol has done well with dogs, cats, and kids, and proper introductions with new dog friends are always a good idea.

He’s come a LONG way from the skinny little puppy found abandoned in a park, and now he’s ready for the best part of his story:

Guess who’s finished his heartworm treatment and looking for his forever home? Midnight! ❤️

This 4-year-old, 61 lb boy is housetrained, neutered, and UTD on vaccinations. He does well with older kids around 10 and up. Midnight can enjoy other dogs, but he’s selective about his friends, so we’ll help find the right match.

❤️ HAPPY TAILS, DEE!

Dee has officially been adopted. And after talking with her foster, this one feels especially right. ❤️

Dee came into Memphis Animal Services as a stray, heartworm positive and marked urgent because the shelter needed space. Team Memphis committed to her, and on September 13, 2025, her foster picked her up and got her out.

Her shelter notes described a friendly, social girl with a playful, puppy-like attitude. In foster care, she had somewhere safe to settle in, receive her heartworm treatment, and recover with someone looking after her.

Her foster has been going through a lot this year. When we spoke, we came away feeling like Dee needed to be right there with her. There was something about the two of them that made staying together feel right.

We’d been looking for someone to give Dee a lifetime of love, and here she was, giving some much-needed love to the person already caring for her.

So “foster” has officially become forever. Dee is staying. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who helped get her here, and to her foster for making her part of the family. We’re so glad you have each other.

Happy Tails, sweet Dee. You were already home the day you walk out of the shelter. ❤️

🐾😂 CARSON IS 18 WEEKS OLD… AND APPARENTLY NOBODY TOLD HIM PUPPIES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A PAIN IN THE ASS! ❤️
Most puppies need months of training. Carson apparently read the manual before he was born and graduated with honors! 🎓🤣
🐾 House-trained? Already nailed it!
🐾 Sit, stay, down? Child's play!
🐾 Recall? You call, he comes. Imagine that!
🐾 Doorways? This little gentleman waits for permission!
🐾 Crate time? He walks right in on command. You don't even have to close the door!
🐾 Walks? Stays right by your side like he's supervising the whole operation! 😂
And just to make the rest of us look bad, he's ridiculously affectionate, incredibly attentive, and a total love bug! ❤️
Seriously, this kid has the brains, the manners, the looks, AND the personality!
At this point, we don't know whether to find Carson a family or put him in charge of training the rest of us! 🤣

Second to RSVP: Flicka! 🐾

Flicka’s two favorite things are food and cuddles, so spending an afternoon meeting people in a store full of treats seems like a very sensible use of her time.

This brindle girl is about 14 months old and 41.5 pounds. She loves fetch, tug, and being close to her people. She’s housebroken, crate trained, knows sit and down, and is still polishing her leash manners.

Flicka is good with cats and enjoys other dogs, even if she doesn’t always put her best paw forward at the first meeting! Canine friends her size or larger are the best fit, and she’d also be happy soaking up the attention as an only dog. An active home with adults or older kids, around 10 and up, would suit her well. She can be a little shy in new places, so give her a moment to get comfortable.

She’s spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and ready to find her people.

GUYS! This dog is so perfect! ❤️

Ava has gotten so much attention and keeps wooing people, but there have been concerns about her knees.

Well, Little Miss Ava has had knee surgery, and now she’s showing off how well she’s doing—keeping up with the puppies! 😂🐾

And when she’s done keeping up with the youngsters? She would very much like to be in your lap. Sit on the floor and she’ll plop herself right in. Sit on the couch and she’ll settle beside your legs, making sure she stays within petting range.

Ava is sweet, a little goofy, and usually pretty content with a comfy spot near her people. She does well with other dogs and housecats, enjoys having friends, and respects their space when they aren’t interested in playing. She’s house trained, great in her crate, and would do best with older kids and a yard for potty breaks.

Her heartworm test was a light positive, and she is currently undergoing treatment. We’re happy to go over her care with anyone interested in adopting her.

This girl has plenty of admirers. Now let’s find her a family who gets to love her every day. ❤️

❤️ HAPPY TAILS, SNOOPY & SPARTY!

This one is long overdue… Snoopy and Sparty were adopted together, and their ride home came courtesy of Pilots N Paws! ✈️❤️

Snoopy came into Memphis Animal Services when his owner was moving and couldn’t take him along. He was marked urgent because the shelter needed space and was facing euthanasia on July 23. Team Memphis committed to him, and that day, Snoopy left the shelter with a chance to find a family again.

He came out with an upper respiratory infection, and his foster family took such good care of him. We do think the pills hidden in his food had him convinced the humans were trying to poison him, though. Apparently, finding medicine in your dinner is a serious breach of trust. 😂

Sparty was almost 11 when his owner’s health meant she could no longer care for him. This sweet, happy senior Beagle needed insulin for his diabetes and had cataracts that made it hard to see. He needed somewhere to spend his golden years with someone ready to care for him.

He was boarding at a veterinary clinic when the clinic reached out to one of our board members. That board member happened to be on vacation with a Beagle lover, and Sparty found himself a sponsor! From veterinary boarding, he moved into foster care, where his foster helped manage his diabetes while he waited for his family.

Then a family with plenty of experience caring for animals said yes to BOTH boys. Sparty’s diabetes didn’t make them hesitate. They were ready to give him the care he needed and welcome Snoopy right along with him. ❤️

These two boys had both lost the families they knew, and both wanted a dog friend around. We like to think they found comfort in each other and bonded over that shared loss. Getting to make the journey to their new family together felt especially fitting.

Both boys boarded a Pilots N Paws flight and headed home. It was Sparty’s very first plane ride, and his foster reported that he was such a good passenger. A pretty special way to start his retirement!

Snoopy fell in love with his new dad immediately. That part didn’t require any convincing. ❤️ Now both boys get to share a home with a family who will love them to the end of time.

Thank you to the clinic for reaching out about Sparty, to his sponsor, and to the foster who stepped up for that handsome little guy at the shelter, Snoopy. Thank you to Pilots N Paws and everyone who helped get these boys home.

To their fosters, you are amazing. Everything you did for these two boys reminds us of everything good in the world. You looked after them like they were your own. Through the medical ups and downs, you stuck with them, cared for them, and loved them. You gave them this chance. ❤️

To their adopters, there are no words. Just thank you.

Ro has officially confirmed his attendance—and thankfully, his manners are better than most party guests’.

He loves a game of chase and running around the yard with other dogs, but he isn’t a rough player. He plays respectfully, takes correction well, and is very sweet with everyone. His foster, Katie, calls him “the PERFECT amount of playful and respectful.”

He even waits for permission before going outside or coming back in, including when the door is cracked open.

His previous owners reported that he was good with cats. Katie hasn’t observed direct interactions, but he shows no interest in the neighbor’s cat. Ro has apparently decided to stay out of neighborhood drama.

Second chances take a community—and Cordova is part of ours. 💙🐾

With 9 registered foster households in Cordova and 3 dogs finding homes there so far in 2026, this community has a special place in Team Memphis Rescue & Support’s story.

Thank you to the Cordova Walmart at 577 N Germantown Parkway for awarding us a $1,250 Spark Good local grant! This support will help us care for rescue dogs as they get ready for homes of their own.
