If your pet needs medication, food, or you need assistance before we close, please plan to stop by before 12:00 PM. We will reopen and resume normal business hours at 2:00 PM.

🌀 HURRICANE READY: Small Pets Need Big Plans!

Birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, chinchillas, sugar gliders and other small companions can be especially challenging to move at the last minute.

Before a storm threatens our area:
✅ Have a secure travel carrier for each pet
✅ Pack their normal food, hay, pellets and clean water
✅ Keep medications and medical records together
✅ Label carriers with your contact information
✅ Pack familiar bedding, hides and comfort items
✅ Know where you can evacuate — and confirm that location accepts your species

For birds especially, secure them before storm prep has everyone opening and closing exterior doors.

Small pets can also be sensitive to temperature changes, drafts, fumes and disrupted routines, so make their hurricane plan part of yours. 💚

Save and share our checklist so you’re ready before the weather gets wild! 🌀

🐾 Happy International Dog Day! 🐾

Today, we PAWS to recognize everything our canine family members bring to our lives. ❤️

They teach us patience, responsibility, and mindfulness. They teach us forgiveness, bravery, unconditional love, and loyalty.

Dogs remind us to live in the moment—to stop and smell the air, take that nap, chase that Frisbee, and enjoy the little things... because life is short. 🐶

🌈 Today, we also remember the dogs waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. We remember their stories, their quirks, and all the funny things they did, so that when we look back, we can shed a little more laughter than tears. ❤️

Peak hurricane season is approaching and we want to be 🌀 HURRICANE READY!

Over the next few weeks, we'll be sharing some preparation tips for a variety of pets.

This week, we're focusing on outdoor animals. They need a plan, too!

When hurricane season gets busy, outdoor animals can’t be an afterthought. Backyard chickens, outdoor tortoises, reptiles, and livestock all need a safe-weather plan before a storm is headed our way.

Think about where your animals will shelter, whether their enclosure or burrow could flood, how you’ll protect food and clean water, and how you would safely relocate them if necessary. Secure fencing, coops, shelters, gates, feeders, and anything that could become flying debris.

🐢 Outdoor tortoise owners: heavy tropical rain can flood burrows and low-lying enclosures FAST. Have secure temporary housing ready before you need it.

And remember: never leave an animal tethered during severe weather.
