🐾 Woof Wednesday: Hot Pavement Alert! ☀️🔥

Florida heat isn't just tough on us, it's tough on our pets, too!

Did you know? When the air temperature reaches 85°F or higher, pavement can exceed 125°F, hot enough to cause burns to your dog's paw pads in under a minute. 🐶🔥

✋ Try the 7-second test: Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your pup.

✅ Walk during cooler morning or evening hours
✅ Choose grass or shaded paths when possible
✅ Bring plenty of fresh water

Protect those paws and keep those tails wagging! Share this post!🐾💙

Pets naturally instinctually hide pain as a survival mechanism. Early indicators are subtle, often manifesting as behavioral changes before obvious symptoms like limping occur. Look for sudden shifts in routines, such as hiding, irritability, changes in grooming, abnormal posture, or reluctance to jump or use stairs..

🐾 One tiny chip. One big way to protect your pet. 🐾

June is National Microchipping Month!

Did you know? A microchip is not a GPS tracker, it's a permanent form of identification that helps shelters and veterinary clinics contact you if your lost pet is found.

💙 Microchipping is quick, safe, and can greatly increase the chances of being reunited with your pet if they ever go missing.

Not sure if your pet is microchipped? Give us a call, we'd be happy to help!

🩵🐾Honoring K9 Pantera "Ace" 🐾💙

Our hearts are with the LakelandPD as they mourn the loss of K9 Pantera.

K9 Pantera served with courage, loyalty, and dedication — protecting both officers and the community with unwavering devotion. The bond between a handler and their K9 partner is unlike any other, and the loss is deeply felt by all who knew and worked alongside Pantera.

Thank you for your service, bravery, and sacrifice.
Run free, sweet Pantera. 🌈🐾

Sending love, strength, and our deepest condolences to Pantera’s handler, the department, and all who are grieving this heartbreaking loss.

Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (GDV), or "bloat," is a life-threatening emergency where a dog's stomach fills with gas and twists on its axis. This traps the gas and cuts off blood supply, leading to shock and organ damage. It requires immediate veterinary surgery to survive.

🐾 Feline Friday Feature! 🐾

Everyone say hello to Gomez! 😸
Just check out that adorable mustache! 🖤🤍

Gomez recently stopped by for his yearly wellness visit, and annual exams are an important part of keeping our feline friends healthy and happy. Yearly visits help us:
✨ Perform a full nose-to-tail exam
✨ Keep vaccines up to date
✨ Monitor weight and overall health
✨ Discuss nutrition and behavior
✨ Detect health concerns early

Cats are experts at hiding illness, so routine checkups can make a big difference in catching problems before they become serious.

📞 Give us a call to schedule your cat’s yearly wellness visit!
