Schnauzer Rescue of Texas (SRT) exists for the sole purpose of ensuring all Schnauzers and their friends we assist make it to their forever - and perfect - home! Three friends, with different skills and compatible styles, and with a strong, common desire to save lost, neglected and abandoned Schnauzers, pooled their resources and worked together to form Schnauzer Rescue of Texas (SRT). The three Directors leveraged a collective fifteen years of rescue experience to create an organization with one singular purpose – putting Schnauzers in loving homes. SRT was organized with a belief that responsible rescue can be rewarding and fun…and can match loving homes with countless Schnauzers when everyone pulls in a common direction. A leap of faith was taken knowing there would be those who would volunteer their time, their resources and their homes to help create a growing network where Schnauzers could be loved, and healed if necessary, as they await that perfect individual, couple or family to bring them to their forever home. No one in the organization is compensated for their efforts with the exception of the feel-good compensation of knowing the impact that committed individuals can have when focused on a common cause! Every penny we receive goes toward our unwavering mission. Whether as an adopter, a volunteer or by helping us financially, we hope you’ll experience the energy of being part of Schnauzer Rescue of Texas.

FOSTERS NEEDED -- HOUSTON AREA

The Granbury pups are being picked up Oct 22 and will be headed to Houston where they will have a spa day before seeing our vets next week. Once they are cleared they will be available for adoption. In the meantime, fosters are needed. There are 6 females and 10 males.

Samie, is a 2-year-old, 11 lb Miniature Poodle/Havanese mix. This sweet little boy has overcome a difficult beginning. Rescued from a shelter in August after suffering injuries from a suspected animal attack, Samie received emergency veterinary care for multiple wounds, a dislocated hip, and a tick-borne illness. Despite everything he has experienced, Samie’s loving spirit and joyful personality shine through. Today, Samie is a happy, playful, affectionate little guy who absolutely loves life and everyone he meets! Samie is super affectionate, very social, loves attention, cuddles, and being close to his people. He's treat motivated and easy to train. Samie has great house manners, both house and crate-trained, and is comfortable spending time in his crate. What makes Samie especially remarkable is his ability to love and trust so completely despite his difficult past. He approaches life with enthusiasm, sweetness, and a wagging tail. Samie is looking for a forever family who will cherish him, enjoy his playful spirit, and give him all the love he deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, happy, affectionate companion with an unforgettable smile, Samie might just be your perfect match!

New homes for some of our pups!! Thankful to all of the adopters deciding to Adopt rather than Shop! Several adorable pups have found their forever homes: Franni, Barney, Badger, Salli, Escobar, Dieter, Deena Avery, Camila Rose, Nessie, Coop, Captain Skipper, and Bo. Their new adventures are just beginning, and we couldn’t be happier for them! Here’s to endless cuddles, wagging tails, and all the love they can handle! May their days be filled with playful moments and cozy snuggles.

Tiny Sades was rescued from the streets in May. She was underweight and heartworm positive. Sadly we don't know what her life was like before coming to rescue but happily she has the perfect new home. Here's an update from her new owner. ❤️

Sades is doing quite well. She is settling in nicely. We are respecting her boundaries and not pushing her to do anything she’s uncomfortable with. She comes out to her crate and hangs out with us for short periods of time. She will allow me to brush her daily for several minutes before leaving to go back to her bed. Which again I respect the time she allows. Her tail is slowly lifting and her ears are pinned back a little less everyday. She is a sweetheart and we are all enamored with her.

Honey Bunch was adopted in August and we received an update from her new family. ❤️

We have been enjoying Winnie (formerly Honey Bunch) for a little over 2 months.
She is our third schnauzer. Earlier this year we lost our first girl, Lulu of almost 17 years. She was my little shadow and if she couldn’t hear me she went looking for me. I was worried I wouldn’t find that bond again. I was wrong. Winnie bonded with me in that first week and definitely stays close by. If she has wondered off then she is probably being mischievous! When we first picked her up she was so shy and timid. She didn’t bark, which for a schnauzer is unheard of! With each passing week she revealed a little more of her personality. Winnie was quick to pick up sit, shake, down and walking on a leash. We are working on socializing since she is timid to new people especially males and grooming since her report said she was a little spicy! She loves going on walks and is a great car rider. One of her favorite things to do is bark at the squirrels on dog TV with her big sister. Sometimes she gets a little too excited and we have to turn it off. She has been a great blessing to our family and we look forward to many years with mini Winnie!

UPDATE: IMOGEN IS SAFE BACK HOME.

Little Imogen now Mina was recently adopted and unfortunately she ran out of her new home and is back on the streets. She's microchipped and does have a tag with contact details. She was last seen at S Braeswood Blvd and Fondren in Houston. If you see her, she is shy, but not at all aggressive. Contact (678) 467-1884

Hi there!Wanted to give you a Russell (formerly Boodles) update.

Not long after adopting Russell, Eric and Jessica found out they were expecting. Russell has taken to being a big brother beautifully. He is so attentive. The family loves him very much.
