Grand Forks Dog Training Club

The GFDTC is made up of members who volunteer their time, experience, and passion for dog sports. We provide the general public with education and training for purebred and crossbred dogs. We instruct people with dogs of all breeds, mixes, sizes, ages, and abilities, to train their dogs to be good companions. All our instructors have trained and shown their own dogs in breed competitions, obedienc

e, rally, herding, or agility trials. We have set our training standards high in accordance with the American Kennel Club (AKC) for
conformation, obedience, rally, and agility. We strive to give the highest quality of training available while continually updating our training methods. We offer education for YOU - teaching you how to teach your dog to obey your commands. We believe in FIRM, FAIR, CONSISTENT training with heavy doses of
PRAISE and LOVE. Our methods are based on positive motivation and reinforcement.

We will be offering CGC and Trick Dog Testing (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced) on Saturday August 15th at our Rally trial!

CGC testing is scheduled for 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and Trick Dog testing is scheduled for 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Pre-registration and pre-payment will be required. The cost for each test is $10 per dog.

Our annual AKC rally trials opens today, June 17, at 6 PM! We are offering 2 trials on Saturday and 1 trial on Sunday.

On Saturday, we are also offering Novice Teams and Pairs! We are fun prizes for all pairs and teams that qualify!

Our July fast cat opens today! We are taking both online and paper entries! If you are wanting to do online entries, make sure to create your account on Secreterrier and sign up for our event!

Secreterrier changes a service fee of $1 per run capped at $10 total plus CC fees. The $10 max is across your check out so if you have two dogs, add them both at the same time to save!

We want to thank Darcy Roessler with Sweaty Paws for coming out to our club this past Sunday and teaching two seminars on canine fitness! Fitness, warm ups and cool downs are such an important part of keeping our dogs healthy whether that is competing is sports like Fast Cat and Agility or having a safe and successful hunting season.

Also want to give a big thank you to our participants! Without them, we wouldn’t be able to offer things like this!

There are still openings in our therapy dog seminar that will be held on Tuesday, April 28th from 6 to 9 pm. The fee is $25. Both you and your dog are invited to attend. We will go over the rules and regulations of Alliance of Therapy Dogs and work through the physical part of the test. You can send an email to [email protected] for the link to register.
