Spring has sprung, and so have the itchys!
If your dog or cat is constantly itching, dealing with repeat ear infections, sneezing, or having skin flare-ups that just won’t quit, allergies may be stirring up trouble.

There are a few ways we can get to the bottom of the itch:

A good history and exam: sometimes the biggest clues are right there in front of us.

Blood testing to check for allergen-specific antibodies.

Food elimination trials if we suspect a food allergy is the sneaky culprit.

Dermatology referral if your pet needs a deeper dive into the drama.

Keep in mind, not every itchy pet needs allergy testing right away, sometimes the best first step is treatment, a diet trial, or parasite control.
