My experience in the rodeo queen industry has never been defined by the number of titles I personally held, but by more than 30 years of learning, competing, coaching, creating, and serving within the industries that develop successful ambassadors.
I competed in numerous rodeo queen competitions, including Miss Teen Rodeo Idaho, and later served multiple years on the Miss Rodeo Idaho Board. I have directed and coordinated royalty programs for ICA and PRCA rodeos and served as coordinator for Miss Little Bit, Miss Junior, and Miss Teen Rodeo Idaho. Over the years, I have had the privilege of coaching young women through titles at many levels, including Miss Rodeo Idaho.
My background reaches far beyond pageantry. I grew up in 4-H from ages 8–17 and later served as a 4-H leader for 16 years, with experience in public speaking and numerous other project areas. I began training horses at 14 and have spent more than 30 years developing my horsemanship while learning from professionals across dressage, hunter/jumper, western pleasure, reining, cutting, and working cow horse disciplines. I also hold an associate degree in Criminal Justice Administration, with part of my college education in equine studies.
As a couture seamstress and designer, I bring another side to competition preparation—from fit, fashion and alterations to rhinestones, embellishment, hat cleaning and shaping, and creating a polished overall appearance. I also help with hair, makeup, modeling, interview preparation, public speaking, horsemanship, photogenics, and understanding how all of those pieces work together.
I didn't grow up with unlimited resources or opportunities. I worked for what I learned, sought out knowledgeable people, and built my experience one skill at a time. That is a large part of why I created Method and Madness Ranch: to give young women access to a well-rounded coaching program where the pieces come together instead of having to find a different person for every area of competition.
My goal isn't simply to help a girl win a crown. It is to develop a capable, confident, polished horsewoman and ambassador who understands why she does what she does—and has skills that remain valuable long after the competition is over.
