Meet Point! A speckled and spotty 5 year old pup who is ready and waiting for his next adventure. This week, Point got a nice little break from the shelter with volunteer Allison. Here's what she had to say about their day!

"We had a great day today! Point is a very good boy. We went for a nice long walk at Wash Park and he even had some fun playing in a little creek. After that we had lunch on a patio at a nearby restaurant where he was the perfect lunch companion. We ended the day at Good Times with a Paw Bender!

He seems to love the car, he stuck his head out the window and wasn't nervous at all! He was super easy going when we were at the park. He was great on leash, pulled a little since he was so excited but not for long and took direction very well. He did notice a couple of other dogs but did not bark or lunge - just seemed like he wanted to play with them. We interacted with several people, including a couple of children, and he was great.

At lunch, he was very well-behaved and calmly sat next to me. You could tell he wanted my food so bad but didn't go for it all (like my dog does 😂)! He LOVED treats and would sit and lie down on command - seems like he's very smart. He was the perfect companion!"

Every day, we meet animals overcoming unimaginable odds to find connection, hope, and healing. Animals in dire need who discover the transformative power of second chances. Animals who, like Mango, a horse as sweet as her namesake, receive life-changing care on their journey home.

Mango arrived at our Harmony Equine Center last summer after law enforcement and our animal protection team compassionately removed her from her previous home due to suspected neglect. From the beginning, despite the long trek to Harmony, the pain she was experiencing, and her new surroundings, Mango’s gentle nature impressed us.

Our first ever Whisker Fest was an absolute success! We had a day filled with fun, great music, delicious food, and of course supporting animals in need!

This event was a success thanks to our amazing community who showed up to celebrate, the fantastic vendors, food and beverage providers, bands, and all of our sponsors, including Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Fetch Pet Insurance, ATRS Recycling and Groove Subaru!

Floyd came to us with a broken back leg. But when we looked at his X-rays, we learned there was much more to the story: his femur had been shattered by a bullet. 💔

After amputation of his injured leg, Floyd has been recovering beautifully, and through it all, this sweet boy has continued to show us just how special he is.

At around 2 years old, Floyd is ready to leave the medical care behind and get to the important stuff: being a cat. Napping. Getting attention. Being adored. And finding a home where he can be his ridiculously sweet self.

Floyd is ready for his next chapter, and we think it should be a pretty great one. 🐾❤️
